What a marvellous series of historical events. Barton V.C. at 19, wow. I remember the Heck accident but it never sunk in that it caused so much destruction and death.

A great bumble again. Didn’t know the story of Cyril Barton. A cool head & some feat for a 19 year old, thanks for telling it. I think they still have a glider club at Burn. A section of the runway apron forms part of the Trans Pennine Trail.

Another great and interesting video quite a flat part of Yorkshire around there but a lot of interesting history nice dry weather as well and that pilot flew that plane completed his mission but sadly never quite made it home what a courageous man anyway take care ride safe 👋

Cheers Nicholas and thanks for watching. It certainly ir a nice pard of Yorkshire though not its best scenically. He was one of those brave young men that we owe so much too.

We seemed to move from the super pit era, to the end of coal, in a about a decade. At least as the principal means of energy. It was a lesson in how government opinion moves from one state of absolutely certainty to another, without any period of doubt in between.

Yes very true. Its a bit like the current knee jerk reaction against the internal combustion engine. The only option is electric propulsion, so let's throw everything into that

great content as per usual.

As you wrote this title: Prophecies, Death and Destructuon, you mentioned nothing of your disappearance from the channel! I hope all is well and you've not given up here... i'm guessing you're up to ya ears with the usual thicket of shows, work, and riding, we get in spring, and have no time for YT Let's hope you're doing fine and please don't think i'm stressing you out. Sorry for the sudden dissapearance Steve but had a bit of a disaster. Got T boned while filming a motorcycle ramble at the end of March and been in hospital for 4 weeks and now got smashed leg in a frame for the next 9 months at least. I'll be posting a channel update as soon as I'm mobile enough to get to my equipment. Cheers and thanks for the concern.

@@old-n-Goldie Omg, so I did sense something was outta sync. Sorry to hear this, I know what that's like, as I was also once mown down, and off work for almost 18 months, some 20 years ago. The bike went up to Yamaha heaven, but worse than that, I lost a year of riding.... however, while still on crutches, I soon found a replacement to fill that empty spot in the garage. Which bike were you on... I hope it's not a write-off? Well, I had seriously thought of riding into your neck of the woods in July, thinking I might catch ya around, but... Whatever, I certainly will be retracing some of your Rambles, as I wanna see some of those places through my own eyes. Look after yourself M8, and get well soon. As time goes on, i'm sure you'll be able to tinker around on Dave now and again, until you've reached "ride mode" again. Oh, and greetings to your Wife, I know how that must have shocked her.

Thanks for the comments Steve, much appreciated. It was a real shock to the wife but she's been an absolute rock and being an ex nurse, I'm getting first class service 😂 I was out on the CCM but it was pushed clear and amazingly only suffered a scratched silencer and a damaged bar end mirror. It was my right leg that took the full impact. If you do get over in to the area later in the year, let me know and we may be able to hook up at some point. Cheers.
