Description
This webinar will discuss how children with ASD and DCD may develop gross motor skills along a different trajectory than typically developing peers. How to assess children's gross motor skills and create motivating environments to encourage the development of gross motor skills will be discussed. Additionally, best-practice suggestions for incorporating healthy lifestyle habits and activities for children with different abilities will be presented.

Governors State University
Dr. Robbie OShea, PT, DPT, Ph.D. is a full professor at Governors State University, where she teaches in the physical therapy program. Clinically, she works with a multidisciplinary Early Intervention program that includes children with IFSP and typically developing children. She has been a physical therapist for over 30 years. She has authored numerous articles, book chapters, and textbooks and presented nationally and internationally on motor development in children with motor impairments.
