Most TWISTED Kidnapper Gets CAUGHT Because ONE Victim Escaped | The Case of Cynthia Vigil

“Are you comfortable now? I doubt it.”
On March 20th, 1999, Cynthia meets up with her friend, never expecting she is minutes away from being abducted. When she wakes up, a chilling voice speaks to her - it's coming from a recording. As her tears dry up, the early memories of her tough childhood revive, and a voice in her heart tells her: escape.

I really appreciate the work you put into this content and I can tell it's coming from a good place, I also really appreciate that you leave out the gruesome details out while still letting us know how horrid it was, I think this is a respectful way to showcase true crime and let people become more aware. Thank you for what you do, truly. About this case though, this is one of the most disturbing monsters I've ever seen and to think so many people helped him and didnt report him?? They're guilty too. I'm so glad she kept the courage to keep fighting to escape and truly it takes someone incredibly brave and strong to fight like that while your captor is right there!! I personally don't think anyone caught IN THE ACT of a crime is entitled to a trial; their guilt is self evident. And people such as this monster, put them down ASAP. The world owes them nothing. I do wonder what happened to the man's daughter. God only knows what she endured as a child. That is not an excuse for her kidnapping sex slaves for dear old Dad; but you know he twisted her mind from her earliest days, the pig. My own nephew molested his little girl for years. I have a special hatred for a beast who will destroy a child's innocence, steal from her all her sweetest "firsts" (first kiss etc.) and make her damaged goods at 8 years old; no matter how nice people are, there's a stigma and the child is deeply ashamed. The prosecutor says there's such a backlog of these cases in the Ozarks (surprise, surprise) that hers will never be heard. I want to kill my nephew so badly, and have had to make the conscious decision not to throw my own life away. Sorry for the digression, sometimes you just have to let the steam escape.

The level of fury I feel on behalf of Cynthia and all of Ray’s other victims is immeasurable. I have never listened to another case that has been as thoroughly despicable and stomach turning as this one. The ability to complete dissociate someone’s humanity to be able to treat them this way is truly horrific. Thank God for Cynthia and for her actions saving other people from this same fate. But I cannot help but be devastated for what she had to endure in order to bring an end to this. I hope she is healing still and has reached whatever stage of peace is possible after something like this happens to you.

Absolutely terrifying.

Something I have discovered from watching these cases is that these AMAZING women go on to reach out to help other. It's beautiful and makes me cry, that the common thread among all these cases is the survivors' desire to help others not suffer how they did. That is beautiful. That is humanity.

His girlfriend, his daughter, Roy Yancy, that DJ fellow, and probably several others that no one ever found out about. Cynthia not only saved herself, but countless future victims, including the little girl they had decided to kidnap. And now she dedicates herself to helping others. What a strong, incredible woman.
