Most Lightweight Portable Light Stand in the world for AD100, AD200, 100w LED Video lights
Light stands for photography and video can be a hassle when travelling, but not these light stands. This is the most lightweight portable one-piece light stand available at this time for video lights around 60w to 100w or photography flash strobes like the Godox AD100 or Flashpoint Godox AD200 or the Wellmaking 80w video light or even a small camcorder or camera, like my favorite pocket camera, the Sony RX100vii which I use for vlogging and I like to use this light stand instead of a tripod. These ultra lightweight carbon fiber light stands are wonderful for traveling, hiking or doing location photography or videography.

I love it when Markus makes a quick and easy video at home in his socks.
Thanks for this. So good to see a photography channel that is providing useful information instead of just making commercials for the big companies. I own several pieces of no-name equipment I'm addicted to because of you.
I bought three of these after your original recommendation and I've loved it... light and easy to carry. Thank you for your relentless effort to find the lightest weight easy to carry travel photo/video gear... works great for me! 👌
Nice. The rest of us benefit from your light stand obsession almost as much as you do. Thanks for the recommendation!
MarkusPix You always have practical info, thanks once again. Have you considered updating your "Overheat Testing 28 Cameras in Blistering Sun" video? My GX-8s are wearing out! ;)
Great video. You are absolutely right! They are sold out. I clicked on the Amazon link at 2 PM Central Time (June 30, 2024) and they were unavailable. That says a lot about your influence and popularity. People respect your recommendations.
One might say it is indeed... a LIGHT stand... :P
I'm not really sure what to say except thank you. I find value in what you do and the information you share. I have applied many of your suggestions and found them extremely helpful. So again, thank you.
Great video as always Markus! Adorama carries the Nissin LS-65C 8.85' 5-Section Carbon Fiber Light Stand light for $199.00. I use the Adorama Flashpoint NanoRunner $79.00 includes carrying bag ($59.00 if you can catch a sale). Also, Ulanzi has a decent carbon fiber light stand for $100.00. They both attached nicely to my Shimoda Explore V2 35 backpack.
They are no longer available on Amazon. So yes, they sold out because of your fabulous recommendation! Lol.
Straight to the point! You're the best!
I appreciate all your reviews.
I JUST snagged two of these, thanks Markus! ❤ please keep making lighting and travel setups. Love ur content
I got two of these a few months ago. The work great with my neewer tube lights. They are so small and light they fit in the bag with the lights.
Thanks for this video!
Thank you for doing this I've been looking for one that's similar to the one that's been discontinued
Thanks for sharing!
WOOOO IM GLAD THIS VIDEO CAME OUT
Love those!
And already sold out! Crushed the internet! I have an aluminum version of this style from BESNFOTO that I really like using. I will keep an eye out for these to return.
awesome
Many thanks!
I’m sure you already know this but just in case you don’t, Westcott makes a water bag that’s a sandbag replacement. That would solve your stability problem for heavier setups and windy days.

Yep, here's the water bag video kzread.info/dash/bejne/lZ-kk7iBps-3lKg.html and here's a gallon water jug video kzread.info/dash/bejne/q5msyMaij7SeddI.html and heres a bunch of even better ways to secure a light stand kzread.info/dash/bejne/mq5sm7iCfbTAdLw.html and kzread.info/dash/bejne/g6mg2NmIqNizd8Y.html But this delicate ight stand cannot support a heavy weight of any kind, so camping pegs would have to be used
Nice thanks cuz, good to know working on my lighting game.
I have a SNFOTO, it's great. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you
Thanks for a great tip. I’ve been looking at your channel, and find that your camera reviews have by far the most views. Of course, you have to make content about the things you’re interested in, but it’s obvious that your viewers really value your opinion on cameras too. Maybe throw in some camera reviews in the mix once in a while? I know you like the smaller LUMIX cameras, but I would love to hear your opinion on their full frame offerings as well.
Just bought 2 last night!
I will stick to Fosoto FT-190B recommended earlier, as difference is minimal and I have the full set already with backups, I will just chime in that I'm amazed at how soft the light from Quantum sotfbox for AD200 is, nothing to complain and it weighs about as much as a small umbrella, which it is! Add the silicon bouncer for AD200 and I sometimes don't even weigh down the lightstand, if it flips, then I get it back up again and continue 😂 Perfect outdoor setup for fast action.

Yes the Fosotos are great. But I'm obsessed with finding the ultimate lightweight anything- first thing I do when I get something new, I throw it on the postal scale
I got 5 of these 😂 they can also use as backdrop stand 😊
I still think the best combo for a travel light stand is the matthews merf (7ft) + matthews baby boom extension (4ft) which give you 11ft of height that collapses to 20 inches and can fit a carry on. Pair it with a water refillable weight bag and you got yourself a secure combo
@MarkusPix
3 күн бұрын
Yes Matthews is quality stuff, but the merf weighs more than twice what this one does, and when hiking to a distant location with 5 or 6 stands plus lights, cameras, lenses and batteries, every ounce weighs a ton after half a mile!
I would say a handy person with a drill and a couple of knobs could easily modify that light stand to create the missing adjustable leg...making it pretty much perfect.

guy with a knob who likes to drill things... 🤔
I got the tripod you recommended.
Thanks
I do that too for cameras. Tim
Just bought two😁
TY.
Yep gone on Amazon but Still on AliExpress :)
Hey Markus, I live your videos. And to help you out, the word is "Height" not "Heighth" there is no "th" sound at the end of Height. Keep the great content coming!
I've used the FOSOTO brand versions of these with the TRIOPO KX55 and KX90 softboxes indoors with speedlights and the AD200. I haven't used them necessarily at the highest position, but when you splay out the legs at their widest and throw an ankle weight around the root, it's plenty stable. Of course some deeper heavier parabolic softbox is a different thing altogether, but these little Triopos are brilliant.

And I'll even add that I can actually fit these light stands inside the softboxes when they are folded in their carry bags, so they don't take up any additional space in my bag!

@@MarkusPix and that's why I bought them! Thank you so much for all the information you provide!
FYI Soonpho is one of a handful of Chinese brands that resell things like these including portable LED panels at the cheaper end. The other companies selling this stand all keep the same model number (LS-255 or LS-255C for the carbon fiber version). Triopo is the only brand I've seen that has a minor change but that's also why the one in this video has no branding on it.
The moment I see a Markus review I think “Sold Out”. 😂

Nice stands/tripod - perfect for small cams like the DJI Osmo Action or the Pocket 3 :)
There's also the Flashpoint carbon fiber NanoRunner light stands from Adorama, I would believe they are all manufactured by the same Chinese factory, hence the extreme "similarities" between all of them, same recipe, different branding!

kzread.info/dash/bejne/dqeV29Sjf8KTl84.html Yes its a good one also, but a bit heavier
I need a fairly light lightstand that has an adjustable leg for uneven terrain, any tips? Thanks and best regards from Sweden!
How does it compare with the ft-190b?
Markus, what do you think about the new *Hobolite Mini* everyone is talking about -- is it good or just hype ❔
@MarkusPix
5 күн бұрын
hype. But it's cute.
Try this, for weighing down a light stand, a drawstring tall kitchen garbage bag and water bottles. Garbage bags don't weigh anything, they are available everywhere and you have to have water to drink. So there you go.

You must be new here kzread.info/dash/bejne/mq5sm7iCfbTAdLw.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/g6mg2NmIqNizd8Y.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/q5msyMaij7SeddI.html
Can the legs be flat to the ground? I know this would lessen the hight however I think this would make it more sturdy and allow rocks to hold it down.
@MarkusPix
4 күн бұрын
Yes they go flat, but actually it's less sturdy that way
You had one that looked very similar to that that I bought from a previous video about a roundup of light stands that was only about $20. I’m a little confused, is there something different about this one?
I have the same stand, i use it also with AD300 pro and umbrella. If you use a softbox the stand is too flimsy, for the rest is ok. Ps: if there's wind don't use it!
Mine is learning from you.
loving the ulanzi mt-79, sized like a selfie stick, goes up to over 2m, no knobs, no nothing and still has a tilting head built in. costs like 15 bucks from china. pull up and fold in like 10 seconds. not really reliable on situations where there might be kids running around
Watching within the first 24hrs of video release and the link shows them already out of stock!!
I've been subscribed to this channel for a long time and wondered if you guys are married ? If not why?
