Something just to consider, you could wire a battery bank compatible for the plug type and should transform your light into something more portable. It goes without saying that this likely diminishes the quality of utilization. I'm only stating this for people that like some of these options that are not battery powered, and wish it to be.

Love this! So I use the NEEWER 176s when I travel for my interviews. I use two with the NP970s. Typically set them around 50-60%. I've actually thought about getting one more. Two on each side and one in the middle. Just to broaden the light a little more. And they'll last like 3 hours on one battery! Sometimes my interviews last over an hour. I've had some go almost 3, so I need long battery life and that's the way to do it.

@@MarkusPix You are a kindred soul in loving light weight photo equipment. At the risk of being a nuisance I'm going to highly recommend the Nikon 1 J5. The last Nikon 1 and only one with 20.8 mp sensor. Touchscreen 10-30 mm power zoom (built in cap, not the earlier 10-30mm) is very compact. Probably get on eBay from USA buyer as it less likely to be gray market. A lot of Nikons to be overly “engineery” in their menus. Panasonic rules in ergonomic layouts. But the J5 is an exception I think the Nikon 1 design group was not particularly affiliated with the SLR group as they made a camera that’s understandable. A two lens kit is ideal with a 30-100mm. Not the same is having all-in-one RX100 VII but still compact and is giving you the equivalent of 27-270 mm (with both lenses). Buying a Nikon FTZ adapter enables using their AFS lenses. I used the 55-200mm. 540mm equivalent at the long end and about 2 lbs total with adapter/lens/camera. It won't take any kind of the manual adapters as it needs the mount electronics to see a lens. Anyway I'm very grateful for your videos. And Cara is very funny and so patient. Great combo.

If I can ask, Im looking for the smallest, lightest, brightest battery powered light. The use-case would be to place it on top/bottom of a small drone and fly around inside doing house tours for real estate. Ive got about a 1lb (~450g) limit on capacity. Current best Ive found is the smaller 5in ULANZI Handheld Light Wand.

The problem with AA-driven lights are the batteries. They are not created equal. I bought batteries in one Asian country and there was no juice to power my flash. Not the second package either, even though it said "super power ++" on the package. I should have known it was an asian warning sign, similar to "cheap, cheap, you buy me now and pay me later". The customer service said I should buy another brand. But why have on sale known defect batteries below a threshold of power delivery in the first place?! With batteries included you at least know your limitations beforehand.

Markus please a request: with all the info the name and the price clear for each light, could you please explain what the unit you use for "light" which starts out at around 0.4 and then goes beyond 5. Sure there is more light the higher the number but what exactly does the number represent. Thanks for your great channel, I watch many of your videos. A second request: given you have an international audience and the US is an outlier in the USpopulace not adopting the SI (a.k.a. as metric) units. How about giving grams and Celcius and cm and such some love so the rest of the workd can appreciate you and your channel even more?

As an owner of several Aputures, I'm sad that AL-M9 did not make the cut - even despite visible LEDs, it would make Godox or Pixel look huge. I'm also confused, why StellaPro was omitted on this list.

I made a video about the Stella Pro kzread.info/dash/bejne/nWeezrmbaJrPZZc.html it was super bright and also super loud. Light and Motion is coming out with a newer light soon. Here I covered the Amaran AL-M9 kzread.info/dash/bejne/p4WJ0ZWHc620kaw.html puts out as much light as a candle flame.

@@MarkusPix oh right, it makes sense to skip loud lights when talking about on-camera lights, only that not having that rule explicitly mentioned in the video made me miss the requirement. Feeling sorry for AL-M9, small package seems to be too much of a limitation then.
