Godox Flashpoint Xplor AD100 vs AD200 vs AD300 vs AD400 vs AD600 vs ?
My new favorite flash is great for small outdoor portable wedding portrait photography. The ones I've always used are the Godox Flshpoint AD600 and Xplor 200. I returned the AD300 and AD400 I explain why in this video, but my new favorite flash for hiking, travel and outdoors is the tiny but powerful Godox AD100. Its simply amazing. In this video I compare flash power brightness output and different modifiers in the most harsh condition of bright midday outdoor sun. Can the AD100 Xxplor hold up against the sun? Can it actually overpower the sun? FIND OUT! You'll be amazed!

Your presentations are always entertaining and informative. You already sold me on the flexibility of using 4 x AD200 either split or paired together using AD-B2 from your other videos, so I'm sticking with them. Great video!
Always given the best, most in-depth reviews 👏🏼👏🏼 thank you!!
The reason you are my favorite photography equipment channel. You explain the product in plain language anyone can comprehend and have the genius to back up your opinion with tested, concise and honest research! No bigoted preconceived notions or bias. You can’t be bought by manufacturers as you normally purchase these items and don’t take free merchandise to bias your opinions. Yours is the very first channel I look to everyday for your newest content! Keep up the fantastic work and btw, your model ain’t bad either!!😅

Exactly. And I mostly appreciate his real-world tests. I hate when KZreadrs describe a product without actually showing how stuff irks in practice.
I've been watching a number of your videos and testing of the Godox lights. Great job! Very thorough and detail oriented with practical information. Keep up the good work!
Best review and comparsion I've seen on KZread! Thanks!
Fantastic information. Can't get enough of this channel. Markus you are my go to guy for "photography in a bag". Your consistent reviews and style keep me coming back again and again. Photographer's eye candy.

I can't get my head around the fact that your videos are so stuffed full of information and examples. Most KZreadrs would have spent 5 minutes talking about that accessory kit, you breezed over it in a few seconds. So much value in your videos!
This video is awesome! Thank you for presenting straightforward information with great examples! And your model is great! 👏
Markus - glad you rediscovered the 100. That is my portrait light for location shoots and in the studio!
Great Comparison - I was really considering the 300 - I am glad I watched. Always great videos Markus
Excellent video Markus! Will give them a try and add them to my AD200 arsenal! They look like a lot of fun to use!

Sticking around to find out for sure. Thanks for these informative videos. Alright, that AD100 is impressive.
Thank you Markus for sharing these. I learnt and experimented a lot at my job because of your videos.
I purchased the AD300 before watching this video. I now have a pair of AD100s. Thank you for your video.
This is exactly what I needed to find out. Thank you Markus.
Thank you for this. I have a pair of 100s that I've used for hair lights and for background color for sports portraits, etc. I've also used a CTO on one in the background to simulate golden hour when we were stuck with clouds at sunset. I bought mine on sale and will be buying another now that I know they've fixed the color cast issue. I hadn't thought about the mini ballhead, either. In fact, thanks for all the great ideas here!
Already thinking of how to rig these for events! Could be really fun building a stroboframe-type setup for run and gun too. 🤩📸 Thanks, Markus!!
Fantastic! There is nobody sharing this much information or geeking out on this type of gear with the same tenacity or comparison as you. Great video!

Great video! And good point about ND filter vs HSS. It really is counter productive to bring a more powerful flash just to hamper it down with HSS. Although each photographer will prefer a different solution. It is a great reminder for photographers that want efficiency and mobility. Just bring a good ND filter and the AD100 is actually as powerful as the AD300/AD400 in HSS. With the ND filter being much lighter to bring.
Thank you for the “View Products” tab. I will come back to it when I am ready to purchase.
Bought the AD100 Pro after watching this video and did not regret it, what a little powerhouse of a flash. Thanks Markus, another stellar video!
This is my first Godox after listening to all your feedback and I am very happy I did. Looking into getting a second one soon. Love your suggestion for outdoor lighting with different reflectors. I’m new to flash photography and appreciate the education. More power to ya.
Thank you for sharing. Your video reviews are getting great results with less size, weight and money.
My clients love to have shoots in remote spots. These are an intriguing option. Thank you for sharing! :)
Definitely checking these out for Amazon Prime Day. Thanks, Markus!

Thank you! I want to piece together a small portrait set up and find this video incredibly useful.
Thank you for your thoughts and opinions about the AD100. It is very helpful for photographers to get the value for their money when buying the right gear.
Out of everything i never expected this, but i'm very surprised in a positive way. And pleased at the same time. I'm very glad that i came across this video before buying even anything from the Godox AD Pro series. Right now i'm still considering the AD200 Pro the most. But the AD100 Pro also doesn't look that bad at all!
Thanks Markus for making these videos
Those 100s are badass!! Amazing how much light they put out.
Keep it going. You are very informative and I appreciate it.

I really enjoy your presentations, keep up the good work. Having not read all the comments I can't be sure someone hasn't already mentioned it, but a couple of months ago I ordered a third 100 pro from Adorama. I contacted Shua in tech support and inquired about the color difference in the latest strobe vs the other two I already owned. Two days later I received two replacement front lenses at no charge. I've been dealing with Adorama as a source for their Flashpoint strobes for probably 5 years or more. I won't bore you with the details or a list of how many of their strobes I own, but for my money they are unbeatable for customer service and product support, at least on the flashpoint strobes.

This is great news. I was also considering buying a third Flashpoint 100 after seeing this and was wondering if they or Godox would sell the replacement lenses. I will be sure to ask.
Markus. Thank you for recommending the AD100. I already have an AD600, three AD200s and even a V860, but bought two AD100s and two Angler 28” softboxes for a Holiday party I was shooting. For the “step and repeat” shots, I handheld one of the AD100s in an Angler and they turned out perfectly. For the rest of the party I used the AD200s with Magmods to illuminate the room and put gels on the AD100s to add some atmosphere and color, especially during the dancing. These are going to Ngoc to be my “go to” headshot lights as well. Thanks again for your honest reviews.
Thanks for this video Markus!!! I'm now thinking on picking an AD100 as a companion to my AD200! though I like having the peace of mind of having the AD200's extra fresnel head in case of an accident happening with the barebulb one!
Great review Markus! Switched from using 4x AD200 to 2xAD100 and 1x AD300.Would be interesting if you compared modifiers for the AD100 like MagMod vs the AKR1 kit
Lol great video! Thanks, I've been shopping around for some studio lights and the AD100 seems perfect. I wanted to get big heavy ones, but now you make some great points. Mainly that since they work well enough for most situations, and are so light weight etc, your more likely to 1. use them and 2. be more creative and move them around. Big heavy strobes (with power cables for each one) are so cumbersome on set or location you hate moving them around. Great vid!
Good timing! Right when i was thinking about getting ad200 :)

This video was very helpful. I am planning on buying either a 200 or 100. I have been lucky enough to test out the 200 and it is nice. I am trying to get my friend to let me test the 100. I have seen it in action and I really like the form factor. I use 2 ad 600s often but they aren't for traveling. Your assessment of. The bigger flashes are spot on . I would have liked a little more depth about the baseball strobe on the ad200. I was very lose to just getting a 200 now I am going to revisit trying to test the 100.
Great video Markcus and I love your enthusiasm. :) It would be great if you'd do a video on ND, variable ND and polarising filters and step up or step down rings. Thanks and keep up the great work.

"I love these things" and I love the content you produce! I was waiting for you to discuss the AD100 and glad you recommended them. Camara/lens systems these days offer immpressive stabilization that might allow you to handhold the flash/camara in each hand? I was thinking of incorporating a bracket but most likely not necessary/cumbersome. I'd really love to shoot without a tripod mounted flash but allowing omni direction handheld flash setup.
Thank you. Lighting for me is scary and you help a lot

Well I have 2 of the AD-200’S and 2 of the AD-600’S, love them both.
I love this flash and it is my main one for years now ( I also got the v1 and ad600). one extra neat trick to help it out is to use a variable ND filter on the lens to dim the environmental light then use it at lower power to (even at ETTL) to light your subject. You'll be able to shoot wide open f stop for bokeh, avoid HSS, shoot faster and longer before the flash overheats if it does at all.

That's what keep saying in all my videos kzread.info/dash/bejne/hJxk05NpgaS8gNo.html and kzread.info/dash/bejne/daxtrMempcSZepc.html
The people that whine about low output are clueless. You can use an ND and disable high speed sync for full power. Manipulate the distance to subject if possible. The ad100 and tiny stand you did are a killer portable setup. We just need a small soft box.
Great 👍 very convincing. I totally agree!

I prefer the 360. Hot shoe mount, small, folds, does everything! And I like the way the flash tube is outward. I use the 600 when I need it. Amazing how much knowledge you have an information you give our compared to all of these other pixel peepers. I appreciate every video that you do.

I love my AD100! I have 2 of them and I've used them on professional corporate shoots countless of times. For indoor shoots it's perfect! Especially when I'm shooting industrial stock images and have to squeeze lights in small spaces. Paired with the AK-R1 modifier kit it's seriously my grab bag for 90% of my shoots.
