agreed. CR needs to find a better method of surveying customer satisfaction, like asking whether to plan to keep their car long term. Luxury car buyers usually lease, so that they never experience long term reliability and the expensive repairs that go with ownership.

TOYOTA is the best believe me because I have been keeping track of reliability, longevity and low cost of maintenance since 1975 and Toyota is always comes out on top. TOYOTA is the brand to buy and own.
Rivian? I’m sure anyone who spent that amount of money would not say they regret their decision. Their egos don’t allow that type of honesty.

"Telsa, Mini and Rivian in the top ten? No Honda, Acura or Toyota?" Keep in mind it was Consumer Reports!
This list does not include reliable cars like Toyota and Honda. Most of the cars selected have dismal reliability. Mini, Rivian, Mercedes, Audi, Tesla, Genisis, BMW (costs of operation and as you said short term ownership) and of course Chrysler.

You want them on the list of most hated cars?
A list of stinkers should also include Land Rover, IMHO. Customers are often embarrassed that they were gullible enough to spring for such an expensive car that adds up more miles going back and forth from the dealear service deptartment, than moderate daily driving. And then there is Rover's resale value. Ugh!!!
Pride must be driving Rivian's high score, because the vehicle itself is plagued with issues.
Only car brands I’d ever consider buying- Honda (or Acura), Toyota (or Lexus), Subaru, Mazda

People argue with me all of the time. Most of the best cars I have owned in my long life have been American nameplates, including Ford, GM, Chrysler, and more recently Tesla and Cadillac (Lyric). Toyota and Lexus came close, I guess.
I have owned my 2010 Toyota Sienna purchased new in November 2010 for 13+ years. I have spent a total of ~$300 CAD on repairs. This is the first car I have kept for more than 5 years. I think it will outlast me.
Great topic! This is the first I've seen of it.
Spot on! Why waste our money!
Had 3 Hondas and 2 Acura's in my family going easily over 400.000 km with no major issues. Scrapped them due to rust. I will not buy any other brand, for sure.
Any car is good when new and many will go far if maintained well and not abused. Nissan should bounce back. They made some mistakes in the past, just like Mazda did with the Ford merger. As a former used car dealer, I can tell you the worst car you can get is a "Rebuilt title vehicle, which is getting increasingly popular amongst curbsiders, shady dealers and body-shops in Canada. Never get a car that has a rebuilt title!
@midnight4109
Ай бұрын
The best new cars typically make the best used ones. A bad 2nd hand car typically wasn't so good when brand new, I have found. The main difference is the warranty which leaves uncovered issues once it expires. Some states (like Florida) put salvage titles on just about any fender bender cars. Rebuilt titles mean little when a car was hit in the back where only the bumper and hatch needed to be replaced. This has also been my personal experience. Beauty is also in the eyes of the beholder. Volkswagen was never on my list of "decent" cars although they have a cult following and plan to be the largest manufacturer, some day.
My brain fell out of my head when you said mini, !
Great video, thanks. Where abouts is Toyota, Honda? Surprised that Landrover didn't come 1st in the least reliable cars. Where's my beloved JAGUAR XE 25t??
Seeing Lexus come in as the 7th highest, I figured No. 1 would be Toyota. Nope. Undoubtedly another organization could implement a satisfaction survey with different results. To their credit, CR does comprehensive testing of new vehicles and offers a valuable service in that regard.
I have 2008 Ford Edge with 220K miles & I have had a lot of minor problems with it. Like ball joints & wheel bearing replaced three times & drive shaft once. My next car will be a Toyota.

@@moeanthony9308 they have already been changed twice at 90K & 180K. I just paid somebody to do it. It looked like too much of a pain for me to tackle it. One of Ford’s V8 has 16 spark plugs.
No Toyota, Honda, Mazda or Subaru? No Acura? I would've been embarrassed to read off a list like that. No Land Rover in the bottom 7?🚫
Rivian???? Ain't no way
Lexus tied with something else in 7th place tells how questionable this content is, not to mention coming in after Tesla and Rivian.
I have Hyundai Kona preferred 2018 I read before I bought it was better than 2019 20 21 as there motor leaks oil my husband just bought Hyundai Tucson limited is there any issues on this please let me know thanks Joan
Some Volkswagen have a lot of plastic parts like the water pump. With all that heat designed to fail. Deciding to buy a Volkswagen over Toyota. You will save money on front end & pay it on the back end.
Nissan use to be a very good car company but changed a lot in the last 15 years. But according to a Hyundai Service Manager I know they should definitely be on a do not buy list. No one in his family owns one and he has a company car.
The bottom 7 makes sense, but the top 7 doesn't. There is only one car brand that I would consider purchasing: Lexus. Where are the reliable and affordable brands? Toyota, Honda, Mazda, and Subaru should have been on this list. I believe that Tesla and Rivian fanboys skewed the numbers in their favor. There may be nothing wrong with the Mercedes or BMW, but they are so damn expensive that few of us could afford to own one. Genesis is a KIA/Hyundai product, which have been proven to be very unreliable and are not worth considering new or used.

This is a proof that the feelings took over the logic. The best Japanese cars are ruling based on logic.

Guess I must just be lucky, owned for 5 years a 2017 Pacifica with now 114,000 miles. So far an excellent vehicle in all respects. Only thing we would change - wish it had memory seat and a real spare tire.

Rivian might be the most loved brand, but Consumer Reports also rate them as one of the most unreliable car brands. I doubt they stay the most loved if they don't address their reliability. I bought a MINI, and yes I would definitely buy another. It's been problem free, drives like a go kart, and is a blast to drive.

Not surprising!
Hi can you review the vinfast ev car vf8 or vf9 thank you
Sorry I do not recommend this video. I disagree. I have Mercedes GLE for 6 years and GLA for 3 years no issues at all. Quality of data is also decreasing by consumer report. Once they had good data now poor data and on that bases this video was made. Hope they improve quality of data
I’m surprised about Infinity! I thought they’d score higher! I am surprised to not hear Toyota in top spot for satisfaction!
Nissan is owned by a French company Renault.
As soon as I heard CR, I zoned out.
Great vid 👍No.7 was Chrysler, and No.6 was Mercedes. 🤔 Were they previously known as Daimler-Chrysler?
I have been leasing Volkswagen SUVs and have had no major problems. I would lease VWs again.
Great video Shari, I agree with all the reports in this video but the truth about Rivian, Genesis, Tesla and Mini are not accurate. I think the reports are skewed and not accurate to reality. Shops very often can honestly report it more accurately especially when these brands age after 5 years…electronics are the weak spot on these brands. These brands are niche brands and the people who owns them are also abnormal 😂 inclusivity are the name of the game in Ontario. Absolute nonsense.
This list is ridiculous, wtf?
He always 'Carp Corner' as opposed to 'Car Help Corner'
In otherwords have to be rich to own a good car.
@Steve_in_NJ
Ай бұрын
Isn't that always true? Of course, the best vehicle for the money is a USED TESLA! Their value drops almost 50% in 2 years!!!
Nissan is on the list probably because of the CVT transmission that most people don't maintain. When their transmission goes out at 80,000 miles they blame Nissan. Those transmissions have to be maintained every 2 years or 25,000 miles by doing a drain and fill of the transmission fluid. I am in the 13th year driving my 12' Altima with the ORIGINAL CVT.
Really, no Toyota, Honda, and Acura? What have they been drinking?
Honestly Tesla is high rated only among EV enthusiasts. Not really among all drivers if you include those who would never buy an EV into the poll, which is a slight majority of all Americans.
Honestly I've had 2 Nissan Rogues and they were pretty ok. Their smaller cars are shit and have way more problems.
Toyota and Honda didn’t make the list????
LIES,LIES….. Best cars to own are LEXUS, TOYOTA AND HONDA…. HANDS DOWN!!! This list is FULL OF CRAP DUDE!!!!!

Lexus was mentioned among the best.
Back in 2021, I worked as an independent contractor delivering rental cars for a company called Kyte. I only did it for around 8 months but I delivered cars like the Sonata, Elantra, C-HR, Corolla, Camry, Versa, Sentra, and Kicks to customers and out of all of those cars, the worst cars were the Nissan cars. I rank the Nissan Versa as the worst modern era car. I would never recommend a Nissan to anyone!
I will buy a 2024 Chrysler Pacifica with a 70% discount then. Why the poor customer service?
Whoever made this list must have been high.

Genesis, Tesla, Bring My Wallet/Mini, Rivian giving a high customer satisfaction?!? More than Lexus? - sounds like JD Power, not Consumer Reports. Since the feelings took over logic you see such bs.
Worst: Infiniti Volkswagen Nissan Jeep Audi Mercedes Benz Audi Chrysler Best: Rivian Mini BMW Porsche Tesla Genesis Lexus
A lot of people (especially women) don't do homework on vehicles, they allow their misleading emotions and feelings to get the best of their decisions. Even when people (mainly men) give them real reasons why not to buy certain brands, the majority of women let stupid things cloud their judgement, like cupholders, mirrors, looks, and looking good in the vehicle. My ex gf for example, when she ask me about buying a vehicle, I try to warn her about certain vehicles not to buy because I do a lot of research, she gets mad at me because I have the knowledge, and says that I'm being negative, so I told her to never ask me to help her ever again, I can't help her, she's to complicated and confusing, so get what pleases your emotions and feelings.
I have lost all faith in Consumer Reports after that piece. Rivians is #1 instead of Toyota or Lexus?
For me the most hated cars and I will never EVER buy it again is no surprise. All Toyotas and Lexuses none of them I don’t care what year is. Those two car brands are pre much crap and stupid I don’t care is really reliable I’m still never buy these crappy car brands. I want something instead of Toyota and Lexuses
I have a 2018 Nissan kicks that’s perfectly taken care of, rides like a dream and is very comfy!!
God who rates these brands manufacturers 😂😂😂😂 or sponsored marketers
You know by watching multiple videos from this channel, I feel this channel is extremely biased and is possibly sponsored by some companies. I only see the content from this channel a joke and a hilarious entertainment.
I owned 2 Mercedes B Class automibiles. A 2015 and a 2019. They were excellent. Build quality was great. Never a rattle, good fit and finish. I had absolutely no issues with them. The vehicles fit me perfectly... and the service at the dealership was exemplary. Even the waiting area was a nice place to be. I traded the 2019 model in for a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (GT). I still like the Benz better, but love the electric drive of the PHEV.

absurd, you can't trust people's reviews blindly.. rivian? Mini?Genesis?is a top?Wtf?Mercedes, audi is very bad cars?
This seems rather rigged as Nissan should be at the bottom of the first list if not at all as there’s worse cars brands than them , Rivian mini, and Tesla I find that to be suspicious as they’ve had their fair share of issues an complaints

that list si so fuc...up i don't trust consumers report. 😂
Funny to see most sold cars be the most satisfying for owners
Least owner satisfaction (less bad to bad) : - Chrysler - Mercedes-Benz - Audi - Jeep - Nissan - Volkswagen - Infiniti Highest owner satisfaction (less to best): - Lexus - Genesis - Tesla - Porsche - BMW - Mini - Rivian This list from consumer reports is definitely not realistic at all. I don't know which world this list's creators live in.
LOL! The two wokemobiles in the top 10? Get real bro!
Dont wast tour money buying Mercedes. Nice driving, but your car will stay more at the garage than you to use it and enjoy driving.
I honestly don't know what questions were asked MB owners for them to answer that they are not satisfied with the vehicles
I know these survey results were from Consumer Reports, Shari, as you mentioned at 0:24. But they still puzzle me. In their February 2024 article "Which Car Brands Make the Best Vehicles?" they ranked BMW as #1, Toyota as #9, and Rivian at #30. Jeep was at the very bottom, ranked #34. Of course, these are entire brands and not specific vehicles. The ranking included road tests, reliability, customer satisfaction, and safety. There's some Ʇ!HSꞀꞀ∩Ꞛ going on.

As some others have noted, it's probably an ego thing with Rivian buyers. No one who sinks that much into a vehicle wants to admit, "Wow, I screwed up."
