It only takes time for people to recognize that Morricone is on the same level as Mozart, Bach, Beethoven etc. Thank God I saw him alive in concert.

How lucky for you! And yes, people think of the great composers being men of the past, but this is a good reminder that talent isn't confined to a specific period.

The Mission (Gabriel's Oboe) is the most beautiful melody that penetrates the soul. I am still very sad that Morricone has passed away during this pandemic. His noble music makes us remember the power of love and music. The world may not return to what it used to be. But wherever we are, our souls are tied solidly. Let's live together in the same time without forgetting “love”! With love from Japan.

"Gabriel's Oboe" theme is one of the most (if not the most itself) heart-melting, soul-breaking and chills-giving melodies and musical compositions that have ever been created. Every time I listen to it I have a mix of feelings: tears fight to roll out of my eyes while I realize the incomensurable power that humans do own to create beauty and, at the same time, to destroy beauty. Just for this masterpiece alone, Ennio Morricone deserves eternal recognition.

There are no words to describe the love that I have for this masterpiece, I feel an explosive mix of feelings when I hear it, I feel levitate and flew through the clouds, and from there I can reach back to the past, in my past, and I can see that in some of the most beautiful and important moments of my life, this unequaled soundtrack was always there... I've heard this music over and over, unending times, in moments of passion and love, on my wedding ceremony, when I was blessed by the birth of my two beloved sons, even when my son learned how to play flute, he offered me the privilege to play it for his dad. This sublime music gave a meaning to my existence, filling my life with love, joy and tears, yes, I always feel my eyes wet when I remember that this masterpiece certainly it was composed in the heaven, because everyone can feel it a divine presence. If one day someone reaches to the paradise, I am sure it will be received for this music. Thank you so much Ennio Morricone for having allowed the mortals to feel this unique moment, when they are still on this planet.

Never ceases to amaze me how one human being can write such a stunning piece of emotional & almost descriptive piece of music? To imagine that he writes the score for every individual instrument & every voice and how all that brings to life the totality of that music I find astonishing! There are sometimes in classical or score pieces where introductions of choirs create a "drop" like how there are in modern electronic and pop music, it's all about the timing and the composition that makes the effect. And this one in particular is one of the textbook cases when it's brought to the best.
