    4 жыл бұрын

@@Darro2017 I retired after 45 years of being an oboist. Oddly, when I changed from clarinet to oboe after 7th grade, I found it actually easier, and never looked back. There are the reeds, which become part of your life: wrapping 10, scraping 9, crowing 7, tuning 5, playing 4, and loving 1, and tossing the rest (or using them for boring rehearsals ... ;-) There is the enormous back pressure compared to flute or tuba, forcing a very high pressure stream with very little flow through the double reed. Breathing management to exhale just in time to inhale without breaking the phrase, missing a breath and continuing the phrase as little stars begin to form ... (if you miss your breath, that is). There is the constant micro-adjustments for intonation, no such thing as "tuned at the factory!" Even temperature and humidity can effect the exact embouchure and diaphragmatic pressure needed to be perfectly on pitch for each note. How much you open the back of the throat, exactly like singing, to shape the tone. (TRIVIA: Which famous chorus leader was a Juliard oboe student?) I think every musical instrument has its challenges. I do miss oboe and Cor Anglais, but it was my time to stop. Thanks for asking. (PS: hope all is well with you and the global pandemic.)

Ennio Morricone’s music is so unique, so beautiful, that it often feels like films were made in service of him rather than the other way around. Sergio Leone admired Morricone's work so much, he often filmed his scenes after the maestro had already composed the music for a particular scene - i.e. the Sad Hill Cemetery scene from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Ecstasy of Gold). Yes, his music was unique, as were the films he composed for - from A Fistful of Dollars to the Mission and John Carpenter's, The Thing but each one brilliant. And although he is no longer with us, his beautiful music will go on forever, through such talented performers such as Ms. Lagowska! Thank you, maestro Morricone!

Some time ago on a summer Sunday morning I enjoyed the beautiful sunrise in our garden by a lovely little stream on a lounger. Next to me was the radio and I was listening to the matinee when suddenly this wonderfully beautiful piece by the Polish group was played. In a matter of seconds I was electrified and completely dissolved in myself. The notes from the oboe were of such purity, clearer than the water from a mountain stream. In my mind I saw angels floating gently from heaven and I didn't know if I was still on earth, in paradise or already in heaven. When I think back to that Sunday morning here in Switzerland, I always have this blissful feeling. peace on earth Thanks to Maja, Anderzej and the whole group.

Listening to this again and again, is it just me? Or can you really feel the passion of this song being played. I applaud each member of this orchestra, and a special thank you to the young lady on the oboe, watch her eyes, the emotion just flows from them, she made me tear up!!!

This is truly such a beautiful experience. I am in the last years of life and I am so grateful that I have been able to hear such amazing talent. I thank God for the internet and the opportunity to be able to enjoy such beautiful music without having to travel halfway around the world. This piece evokes such emotion to the point of tears with me also. I pray that each and every one of the young people are kept safe and well in these trying times. Thank you for your dedication to share your talent.

What a sublime performance, truly inspiring. From the depths of despair sometimes only music can bring me back to this good place. May this beautiful piece wash over you like gentle rain and fill you with hope for better days.

I know what, now I know how to say it: Maja, when she plays Gabriel's Oboes Theme is projecting with her eyes the sight of infinity which is is the basic theme that Ennio Morricone is conveying with his music,,, she's an incredible "multi-media" conveyor of infinity by means of her musical abilities,,, I wish her all the best in her amazing career, may God bless her !

I am a great lover of classical music. Never thought I would hear a bit of film music that would have me say that this is one of the greatest melodies I have ever heard. I often listen to it, and always end up with tears. Wonderful film too.
