So this is one of those don't mess with songs. One because it is perfect, and two because it scares the crap out of me vocally. Well, a friend of mine brought up the idea of doing a cover band of great singers and Boston was one of them. At first, I was "Hell Yes!". Then I remembered it was Brad Delp and quickly had second thoughts. As I was going through the catalog of Boston hits, I came across "More Than A Feeling" with isolated vocals. My Lord can this man sing. I also heard how it was tracked, and wanted to see if I could pull it off. I will be honest, this was the toughest session I have ever done. I don't have the best recording software, so pitch correction was not an option or I would have used it. I will NEVER pull this off live. Listen to the isolated vocal track and you will see (hear) why Brad Delp is in my top 5 vocalists of all time.
