John Cleese actually lived with some neighbours who kept waking him up by slamming the doors of their cars. This sketch was basically his revenge.

I remember I was having a really bad day when I came home and this was in the TV. I laughed so hard I pissed myself totally forgetting my problems. MP making life right again. Happy 50th anniversary boys!

The white car is a Triumph (Spitfire?), and yes, the dark car is a Jag XKE. I'd love to own either one, but I'm a Yank who'd be happy with any old basic Brit saloon (Wolseley 1500, Vauxhall Victor, and yes, a Moggie Minor!). For that matter, toss me a BMC Farina-bodied saloon as well!

My son's mother-in-law (soon), accidentally ran over her foot. The car was on an incline when she got out, the gear shift popped from neutral into reverse, and then: Squished foot. When I overheard the mom & girlfriend using a speaker phone to tell him about it, I couldn't help it--I said, "And Oliver has just run over himself!" I could hear the laughter through his headset. The mom had lived in London when MPFC was on the air.

This is absolutely Piss-Your-Pants funny! I don't recall EVER seeing this skit during the '70s when the Python shows were being broadcast in syndication here in the US, and now that I've found it on youtube, I just have to watch it once a day! No matter how many times I watch, it STILL amazes me.
