Thanks to the internet, I just found who the first couple Sniveling Little Rat-Faced Git named, regarding the guest roster for Ghastly Spotty Horrible Vicious Little Git's Spotting and Disemboweling Party. I asked the Rectums from Swanage, but they were tight-lipped about the Nauseas.

There was once a book called "Raising Chickens for Fun and Profit" that the Pythons were lampooning in a Gilliam-created cartoon about chicken who was a gangster called "Eggs" Diamond, a parody of the infamous gangster "Legs" Diamond. After "Eggs" and his "gang of eggs" were gunned down, an ad for a book called "Raising Gangsters for Fun and Profit" was pitched as a linking gag to this sketch.

I had to look up catarrh. Mr. Git smeared his front door with "catarrh and warm pus." Bleah. Graham mentioned in his autobiography that he thought John had a crush on Michael (who doesn't?), and that's why John wanted to work with Michael in the first place. Is it true? Who knows? But whenever I see this scene, remembering that bit in Graham's book makes it that much funnier.
