I've seen this sketch a hundred times, and every time I expect Graham to say "Doris Day goes up to Rock Hudson, AND SHE...PIDDLES ON HIM!"

Terry Gilliam was so underutilized. I love his animations, but I wish he was in more sketches. He had a great comedic expression.

Milan B. Well considering how everyone and their mother is so vocal about how much they hate him and opposes every decision he makes even before he’s made it, this is more likely from the cabinet of a truly moronic country: like Australia, Sweden, or the UK

Milan B. Honestly, that's what sad, it is basically an exact replica of how the cult of personality around Trump sees his bumbling crap, even says he tells it like it is just because he's dumb and blunt, not to mention saying it's the best and firing anyone who questions him haha
That's a good strategy for when you're put in a tense situation like Terry Jones' character was: Make up a word to express something you simply can;t, like "Splunge." I like how John Cleese bounces up a bit when he is called on at 2:51.

I've always felt like this was an underappreciated sketch. This was one of the times when MP just went for it, cranking up the silly to 11, damn the torpedoes, and it paid off. You have to relish the utter lunacy of the producer and the gibbering existential cowardice of the writers. For some reason, that "pencil droppers, eh?" gets me every time.

I’ve lost count of the times I’ve used “splunge” in similar situations. Also, this is the most accurate portrayal of Hollywood ever made
They're all absolutely FANTASTIC in this sketch, I could watch it forever XD The way Michael says "I LIKE IT, I LIKE IT!!" cracks me up everytime Graham deserved an award :-))))
Been watching these guys since 1973,when I was eleven. Know all the skits and lines by heart. Still one of the funniest shows ever. A few years before he died,Graham Chapman spoke at Dalhousie University in my home city of Halifax,Nova Scotia,Canada. I wanted to go but for some reason didn't. Still regret it. Thanks for the posting.

In Spain there was a comedy show called Splunge, around the 2000s. It obviously wasn't as good as this, but I see they named the show in honour of Monty Python. :)

😂😂😂 MP's best sketch ever! And I feel very splungy about that.
I think we need a new word. 'Genius' doesn't do them justice.
this is one of those rare skits where terry gilliam has more than 1 line...
Yay! Gilliam in live action!
"If there's one thing I can't stand, it's people who have heartattacks!" xD I can safely say that I love these men to death.
Beautiful. Just... My favorite MP sketch of all time; dead parrots, cheese shops, argument clinics and crunchy frogs in all glory, but sometimes, you just need something a little more conventional to make you smile. Like an absolutely wonderful Graham Chapman (he was so calm in his other roles, aside from in the Flying Lesson, as either an extreme authority figure, extremely silly or an extreme victim...seeing him so threatening was refreshing.) yelling at a table of cowering Pythons.
NOT ENOUGH SPLUNGE IN THESE COMMENTS.
