The absolute disrespect to Montembeault. He's by far the best goalie on the roster and he did a great job last year. He truly has the ability to win games and he even won MVP in an international tournament this offseason.

He was better then the previous year but he was not great. And if preseason is any indication I'd say expect about the same performance this year. Montreal needs much better goaltending then what is currently available to them right now.

@@chancestewart1336I wouldn’t say a non factor, he still finished with one of the best gamescores of any Montreal player. His main thing that game was that he won almost every board battle he went into in that game and had good back checking moments. None of those are flashy so I don’t blame anyone for not noticing if they weren’t looking for it, but they are necessary things for him to get better. But the reason people know they didn’t look at any other preseason games is because against Ottawa the first time, he was the best player on the ice during that game, better then Caufield, Dach, Suzuki, Guhle, Monahan, etc. He was physical and could have easily gotten more points if their goalie wasn’t making some key saves. Second game vs Ottawa he had a bit of a worse game defensively, but he was almost on par with Caufield and Suzuki in terms of offensive impact.

5:20 Slafkovsky’s last 2 games vs Ottawa was kind of what you’re talking about, he was one of the best players on the ice and he clocked over 4 hits in each of them I believe. He also was near the top of gamescore on both as well. With the cap situation, they are able to get Price on regular season LTIR which will give them about 6.5 million in space. Also, I would have at least mentioned Dach. He is one of the most important people this season.

Slafkovsky slowed down last year largely due to injury and actually at the end of the year he started to look better. You guys didn't even know Montembault was their starter. PRIMEU HAS TO CLEAR WAIVERS. Dudes don't do these if you don't do the required reading on the team. Why would a fan of the habs watch this? Honestly.

Deceptively better than what the roster looks...That is the Montréal Canadiens this year. Last year stats can be thrown in the garbage, the team had i believe a record amount of injuries for a regular seasons. Take half the team and good player on the Leafs, they won't do better !! If there is a dark horse team this year, it might be them ! In he preseason games, what was the obvious plan for St-Louis was trying some trio in order to find the best match up for his new players like Newhook. What as come out is that the duo of Suzuki and Caufield is still excellent and now Dach and Slafkovsky seems to be the second one ! The only thing St-Louis as to do now is to either put, Anderson, Newhook, Harvey-Pinard or Monahan to those duo and it seems to work ! In defense, perfect mix of veteran and young guy, Guhle will be the key. The only question mark is in net, we will see. I wouldn't be surprise if they are a wild card. Year 3 of development, it's gonna be fun !

Dangle is a leafs fan but not bias, realistic and agree with most his comment , but who ever commented about the défense not being all that, mathesson has sweet hands , he’s a top pairing Dman but he’s always injured, Guhle is amazing and so is xhekaj , Harris , kovacevik , Savard is quiet but blocks tons of shots, there’s 3 major problem in Montreal, Gallagher’s contract, the 3 beer league goalies and the biggest problem is Alex burrows, only if their poweplay would rank top 15 they have a chance at the playoffs but this is getting ridiculous , going 3 , 4 5 games without scoring on the powerplay, it’s probably the worst powerplay in history and not because the lack of talent or big shots that’s for sure Btw Timmins and his love for American player, I Garantee he would of draft Cooley , Slafkovsky wasn’t even top three and was rushed , the new guy Brobov has a brutal track record , Slafkovsky, lafreniere, reinbacher, kakko, hickey,Anderson those are all top 7th overall and brobov was all those teams when those players were drafted, you’d have to be blind to miss that pattern
