@Kasey it's soooo disgusting when men/ people do this kind of thing. It's literally poop particles in the air that people around are forced to inhale! It's NEVER FUNNY, I always look at the person doing the farting like they are the dumbest person I've ever met. If they feel dumb maybe they won't do it anymore. I know..... Fat chance but I can't help looking at them like that after the fact either way. 🙍‍♀️🤦‍♀️🙅‍♀️🤷‍♀️😖😡

She's on point with the "avoid the bells and whistles on a potty" suggestion. I have 3 kids. I bought my youngest an elmo potty that laughs, flushes, etc. It was nearly impossible to keep him focused on the task at hand. After a few days, I went and bought a simpler one. Worked so much better!

Thank you! This is so helpful as I was wondering how to potty train my boy without using the quick three day method that almost looked like a traumatic thing for the child in other videos. The only thing I would like to do differently is praise and celebrate when he learns to go. I think as adults it would be nice to praise and celebrate with each other when we accomplish things anyway. Maybe I need to learn more about the dangers of praising a child too much. I find it highly enjoyable to celebrate with my child so its hard for me to imagine letting that go.

When I was getting my education degree we took a “what is your education style” quiz and I remember Montessori ranked third. Now I remember why it’s not #1. After raising 4 kids, I know that there is nothing wrong with praising your kids for doing things like going potty. No, no one cheers me on for going to the bathroom, but I do get praised for things like making dinner, deep cleaning the house, etc. Yes, that’s part of being an adult, but the same holds true for someone who goes to work; Raises, promotions, etc. potty training and cleaning up spills are part of my toddler’s chores but they still deserve a job well done. Otherwise, I enjoy some of the cute activities and your home set up! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

You can certainly ensure that your tone of voice is one of pride, and if you feel a need to praise, to do so without being excessive about it. A simple “thank you” also goes a long way for other things, instead of the highly overused “good job” that loses meaning after a while. Thanks so much for watching.

Yeah I totally agree! Like when my little guy finally waved at someone on his own and said hi, I was so happy and said good job. If he does something new and does it well, I want to praise him. When he does it for the 50th time I probably won't praise him lol. When I went to the bathroom for the first time after birthing him, I celebrated! And told my husband and he was so proud too! But yeah this vid was super helpful.

And the signing, he won’t tell me verbally when he has to but he knows a bunch of signs so that would be easy to add.

Looove this video! Starting our potty trainning today 😊🙌🏼 My notes: Staying dry Predictable times during the day A Sign Environment A place A Step stool A small potty seat (Going to the bathroom is not supposed to be intertaining. It's a natural thing) Small basket with just the essentials: toilet paper and clean undies. When going out: using pull ups might take a bit longer.. Try: Waterproof diaper covers or piddle pads for car seats and strolers, or a towel... Diapers at night time It's not a 3 day process Keep it simple and stress free: Put her in undies Lots of accidents for the first couple of days Take her every half hour Don't ask her if she wants to go, say "it's time to use the bathroom" instead Sit for a few minutes only, not for long Clean up together Montessori=natural consequence:) Acknowledge but no praising Hardest days are first couple of days. After that she'll get the hang of it, showing signs that she need to go bc she's verbal 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Great! Other readiness points are: confident independent walking & able to/almost able to take their pants and undies off and on. Also, when buying a potty/step stool, make sure the potty is low enough/step stool is high enough for them to keep their feet firmly planted on the ground/stool. This is important for easy bowel movements; preventing boredom/frustration/discomfort/constipation.

You’re a genius that I need more in my life. We haven’t even started potty training Ezzie. He’s starting to show signs of readiness though and I thought today, “I should really start investigating different types of toilet training.” And alas, here you are! So glad to have found your channel!

I used this method with my first child and he was independent by 24 mos. I have another child who is 5 and still has accidents. Folks, if you try this method and it doesn't work after a few (or six) months, please don't make the mistake that I did and switch to a reward/punishment method. It turns out my second has neurological issues that prevent him from feeling when he needs to go. Be patient with your kids. Now I am setting out to potty-train my third and hoping it will proceed more smoothly than the last.

Honestly, since I had my first baby girl 2 years ago, your channel were and still the most beneficial material I have ever came across in the Montessori approach. Thank you so so much, your advices had guided me through so many stages and phases, and the relationship we have developed me and my baby girl has been flourishing more and more thanks to this beautiful philosophy and way of raising and accompanying the child, il is full of modesty respect love and consciousness ❤❤ And the best part is that you make sound so realistic and faisable since you explain the essence and purpose behind every activity and encourage the parents to reach the goals with they have with no need what so ever to buy the best toys and products on the market. Because that is when a parent gives up totally when everything about Montessori becomes a matter of money and not that of attention and availability of the caregiver and the interaction with the current needs of the child. Thank you so much again for your beautiful contribution in this regard it is very much appreciated and helpful ❤ Love from Morocco 😊😊

I really enjoy your videos on all the topics that you have. I am Montessori trained and worked in a Montessori house of children when my children were young , but have been out of the field for sometime. I would like to get back in by opening a Montessori based home daycare. I am very “rusty” and need all the help and tips that I can get. I live in Canada. I find your videos very helpful and practical. Thank you and continue posting

A game changer for my second son was setting him up for success. When he was a baby I started sitting him on the toilet after he woke up in the morning and after he woke up from nap. That was a natural time when he would always pee. I also signed toilet every time I took him and while he peed. I think that's what taught him the sensation of release while on the toilet. Eventually he started signing and asking to go unprompted. Then refusing diapers. We're not all the way there yet (he's two tomorrow!) but so so close and completely lead by him. We don't use little potties (the kids always want to play with them) and with my first I had to basically train him to use the little potty and then train him again to use the toilet. We have a potty seat but my youngest just uses a step stool and sits on the toilet backwards. Feels safe for him and he can get on and off independently.

Thank you for this. I’m currently in the middle of potty training my daughter, she is 20 months. I didn’t do much research before I started potty training, I kinda just jumped into it. It’s day 3 of me trying and I am starting to think I’m not doing it right. I started to do a bit of research and keep seeing all of these “3 day potty training” videos. I felt like I’ve been doing everything wrong, but I didn’t want to give my daughter prizes for going pee. I just came across your video and I’ve been following all of these steps. My daughter is at the point now where she tells me she has to pee but we don’t always make it to the potty on time. I’m glad I got reassurance
