Looking back at this, it's so refreshing to see that they initially announced this game with a trailer centered on ACTUAL GAMEPLAY. Practically everything about MHW amazes me because Capcom has really taken it upon themselves to make a game that caters to the player, even from the outset of this trailer. There were no false promises in a pre-made, pre-rendered type cutscene of a trailer. What you see in this first announcement trailer is almost entirely accurate to the final game. Not only that, but the game ships with SO MUCH content in it and with more promised free DLC on the way. Are we back in like 2006 or something? Since when is it cool to release a full game with no DLC strings attached? I hope this game is getting the recognition it deserves because I'd definitely like to see Capcom's approach to MHW become the model for other triple A developers.

Potionaholic people tend to hate change even when the change improves thing's for the better, using the environment to your advantage, new ways to traverse the enviornments, and being able to traverse the entire area instead of loading from one section to the next, as well as improved grappling mechanics are welcomed additions to the series.

The Switch is Region-free! As I see it, Monster Hunter is already a franchise that requires a lot of charts/guides online for finding materials. Playing in a foreign language just means you'll need more. To some that doesn't really appeal, but to others it'll work fine. I can't read a lick of japanese, but I'll just need a bit more dedication

Y'know, despite all the rage and comments I've seen from the community this trailer for MH World seems more like a bridge between actual hunting and what Monster Hunter is. Doing all this stuff besides gathering items/materials, interacting with the environment makes it feel genuine imo

This looks fantastic. The only things I'm worried about is monster count and weapon type count. I don't care for the new special moves, and the styles could do with some work, but as long as all the weapon types are in it's all good. Besides that, the biggest thing is the new importance given to the environment. No loading zones so shit chases you around more intimately and more importantly you'll need to chase them down harder too. The player dropped a suspended land mass on the monster, used camouflage, and even at one point seemed to break a dam or something and cause both them and the monster to get pushed down stream. I really want Chameleos to be in. Make it a bitch to find him, lol

I love how whenever I see footage of a Monster Hunter game it's always someone using a long sword or a bow, and I'm here flying through the air like a helicopter with my dual blades.

I'm so glad they've made new monsters, it's so refreshing. If I have to hunt another Khezu again, I think I might just hang myself. People are saying this monster looks "generic" but I think it's awesome. Those fold out fins look lit.

Call me crazy, but when was the last MH game that didn't introduce at least a handful of new Monsters? Heck even the G versions have introduced more new monsters than we've seen so far.

Yeah but I personally liked a lot of the monsters from the 3rd generation (Gigginox, Agnaktor) etc which I thought mechanics wise were a step forward but due to whinging people with nostalgia, in 4th gen they got rid of them and brought back Gen1 mosnters whose mechanics are pretty bad and boring (Khezu). Anyway they've said the monsters in World will have much better AI and are more organic so I think any monster will be exciting and fun to battle.

I can’t believe this came out in 2018. I’ve been playing it ever since and it still feels like just yesterday lol.

Bowguns looks like it'll be getting a massive overhaul. Note that during the "gatling gun" sequence, the hunter was slowly waling backwards, and that fire rate is somewhat higher (the flashes doesn't seem to match the actual shots, though the fire rate seemed to be speeding up over time).

This is what we have been waiting for! Legit tears in my eyes x.x And that rapid fire bowgun... so much yes!

Will any of you judge me if I said I cried when I read "PC"? Because I did.

3K hours into this game since the release until the final update Fatalis of ICEBORNE. Thank you for this wonderful piece of art and letting us be a part of it. Currently enjoying SunBreak and can't wait for the next game.

It’s not just a masterpiece. It’s a foundation for other game developers and industries to get their heads out of their ass and actually make something that has love and passion put into it. Not a laundering cash grab, not another sequel every single year. Just a really good game that has lots of substance and foundation built off of it. You can tell just by playing it, the world they created feels like it’s breathing. There’s so much depth and substance, it draws you in with its epic spectacles, and fills the gaps with its charming nature. There is absolutely no other game that has touched my heart like this. But more than that, it’s like a love letter to the first monster hunter. I remember booting it up on my PlayStation 2, and feeling like I’m being transported into another world. Regardless of its dated graphics, and hardware. it was like nothing else I’ve ever had the pleasure to experience for myself. Capcom made gaming not only fun, but meaningful as well. even though I don’t talk to these people anymore because of life situations. But I have made so many friends on my long journey through the universe of monster hunter.

Ah we’re the same 20 years vet of MH. This proves that only us who played since the O.G understand. That Kaname Fujioka reimagined his first game when he designed World. Like, “what I’m gonna do if I can create MH again from scratch?” World delivers and help Kaname to reach the stage he always aimed. Contrary to what people think, the O.G MH was designed to be Capcom flagship in multiplayer online gaming. And not as niche game only for higly skilled players. The game was made for everyone, and with World they finally reached and covered more global audiences. And after 20 years, there’s no better blessing than being alive when Kaname deliver his ideal MH at 2025.

Still gives me chills when he fires the SOS and you see the hunters coming in on flying beasts... capcom's world creation on this franchise is top notch... kudos.

This looks different, but very cool nonetheless. The new monsters look a little too much like dinosaurs, but this is just a small sneak peek of what they will look like, and if they bring back a lot of cool old monsters, it'll still be good. Also I'm hyped as fuck to finally be able to play Monster Hunter on my Xbox. Hopefully now i can convince some of my friends to play so I'm not stuck with randoms all the time.

It's great looking back at all the dumbasses now so close to launch. Still can't believe this game got so much hate for the Anjanath.

Exploring this game with so many other hunters has literally been amazing, can't thank Capcom enough for the memories. See y'all in Rise, just gonna do it all again

It's been 5 years...I still remember the moment of me completely and beautifully losing my absolute shit seeing World's graphics. This is truly one of the best Monster Hunter I've played and the best video game franchise Capcom had graced us.

...And here we are, a mere few days beyond release, where the game has already shipped 5 million units. You've done well, Capcom. I'm already unsure of what game might top this as my favorite this year.

Literally the best game i played in my 30 years of live. And i think nothing will ever beat it..

Kaname created World as the reimagined of the O.G. MH, since the first time was made to be Capcom flagship in online multiplayer gaming game. And Worldborne finally delivered that target.

Y'all need to calm down here. Your throwing a lot of hate out in random directions. I simply have come accustomed to a very specific property and play style when I am presented with a game that markets itself as "Monster Hunter". At first glance I did not see much tying it to monster hunter outside of a big sword and a rathalos (Rathian? I can't tell the color scheme) while throwing in a focus on some sort of hand crossbow/kin insect thing and a grappling hook, on face value this does not look very "Monster Hunter" to me. That does not make me "salty" or "elitist" or whatever hot buzzword you want to throw at me it literally means "This is different from what I expect this long running property to be and that put me off." I make no statements on what the quality of the end product to be nor do I think you are stupid for liking it.
