Agreed, its one of the more unique monsters, I wish it could've gotten higher but im happy with where it's at

I like how Primordial seems like the only variant to surpass the base form, but by virtue of its lore is in fact the base form itself. Anyway, props to Alatreon making it to top ten despite its drama, and Nergigante nabbing two spots is hilarious.

But kinda wish they could just combine most of the sub-species together to make spots for other monsters. 😅😅😅 It's great to see Lagiacrus so high considering we haven't seen him in a decade. If that's not enough proof for Capcom to bring him back in Wilds then I don't know what is.

Lagiacrus was what sold the MH series to me. Picked up Tri on the Wii when I was like 10 years old, fascinated by the Lagi box art and what the gameplay trailers seemed to promise. And somehow the game, especially Lagi, lived up to my super high expectations. The cinematic cutscenes that introduced Lagi were just outrageously cool, and when you had to go fight underwater, on HIS turf... The whole atmosphere of that fight made me feel equal parts badass and helplessly small. More than any other fight since. For me he really is the coolest monster all things considered and I'm glad so many agree

Sad that Ahtal-Ka didn't make it, but happy Valstrax slid in to slot 4. The top 3 being a mix of two fan-faves and a relative newcomer's also neat as well!

To all who voted velkhana: You're based! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise! Congrats to zinogre fans. I may not agree with the results, but zinogre is solid.

Tigrex (23.) and Furious Rajang (24.) placed right outside the top 20 and Jho (40.) and Savage Jho (42.) seem like they were cannibalizing each other on votes. How is Zinogre top 3 surprising to you? The thunderlord is pretty badass if you ask me and has also made a lot of appearances. On top of that he was the flagship of Portable 3rd which, I believe, is still the most sold MH game in Japan (even worldwide it's the 2nd most sold, I think). Personally, I was contemplating whether to vote for Zinogre or Nargacuga.

I feel that Rajang and Deviljho suffer from the unfortunate grouping of not being flagships, nor being Elder Dragons. So a lot of people _like_ them, but they aren't people's go-to for favorites. I'm also guilty of that; while I really like Deviljho, it's still second place to Lagi on my personal list of favorites. So on a vote like this, it doesn't matter whether it's Deviljho or Steel Uragaan; if it doesn't get picked it doesn't get picked.

Need to say that Monster Hunter has insane Battle Monster Music! Huge!

I'm glad to see that despite most monsters here being from 5th gen (either introduced or remade) as I expected, we also got White Fatty and Abyssal Lagi, two monsters that we haven't seen in a long time. Also my two favourites got both in the top 3, and the third out of them I was fully expecting to be there, so Yay me! Kinda surprised some mons like Jho, Rajang, Amatsu or Tigrex didn't make it, I wonder if they could have if subspecies/variants weren't counted as different candidates.

Doesn't surprise me at all that Zinogre got the top spot. Well done big guy! Not my personal favorite, but maybe that's because I spent hours farming it.

Been watching the stream with my hunting buddies and the hype for every reveal is soo real!! The Top 10 is legenedary and well deserved 👏

Zinogre on top feels good. And Narga and Valstrax in the top 10 makes me happy as well.

I know that variants add many more traits to a monster than just a new color but I would've liked to see no repeats on this list. Take the variation with the highest placing and free the other spots to include more monsters. But overall I found some very interesting/unexpected picks which speaks volumes about the game's rich diversity of creatures.

It's ok Glavenus, you'll always be MY favorite.

I'm so glad both Valstrax are top 20 and nearly top 3! My favorite Elder will pierce the heavens!

I have mixed feelings about their being two Nergigantes and Valstraxes that look very similar to the original. I think their votes should have been fused since their so similar. But overall I'm pleased with the results. I love Valstrax, Gore Magala/Shagaru Magala and Primordial Malzeno. Zinogre and Lagiacrus are worthy top picks as well. Bravo people.

let's appreciate that Lagi made the top three, while only appearing in 1 generation of monhun, and the champion for probably one of the most divisive feature ever: underwater combat. the message is clear, guys at capcom: we love Lagi. bring him back.

Its a shame that Ahtal-ka didn't do it to the top 10 i liked the mecha-godzilla mechanic of him

CG valstrax and normal valstrax should have been grouped together honestly, no reason not to, it's just that CG gave a lore reason to hunt valstrax.

Seeing the Shagaru Magala brings a smile to my face.

Im kinda surprised that Devilpickle and Rajang didn't make it, but at least my favourite guys, Brachydios and Sa'fi, are here. Although I do miss my Pukei-Pukei, Dodogama and Inagami...

So happy that Nergi got 2nd and 9th place! Actually fell in love with it in MHS2 and it has remained on my team ever since! Can't wait to fight it in worlds!

i just bought MH rise as my first proper MH game on the 20th anniversary sale on Steam. I'm literally as late as it gets to the party, but I'm glad to be here and having a blast. Seeing all these monsters for the first time here is so cool and looking forward to facing them in the future

I hope for you that Capcom will make an unexpected move and port Double Cross to the PC. That is the last game from the REAL Monster Hunter range. It was like a "best of" game with all the monsters from all the past generations and it has THE best customisation.

Happy to see my personal top 3 made it, being Nargacuga, Zinogre, and Mizutsune in that order. And absolutely enjoy the rest of top 20 too. This series has so many cool monsters. A bit surprised that some made the top 20 twice by extension of variants and such, though I'm not complaining.

One of the finest game franchises of all time! Thank you CAPCOM for 20 years of amazing experiences! If there's one wish I could ask it's to remake Portable 3rd with modern map design: one big seamless redesign of Misty Peaks would be a dream come true, as well as Deserted Isle.

As someone who grew up in Portable 3rd, I feel so proud for my doggo.

They really need to create more variety of monsters such as the crabs, insects, and monkeys. Cuz with this list, they should just change the game into Wyvern Hunter😂

Im super happy my boi Lagi was in the top 3. I was honestly surprised by some of the new world representation.

Zinogre, Nergigante and Lagiacrus are my top three monsters and they made the cut! Let's Go! ; D

As a Nargacuga/Zinogre fan, seeing my bois getting both 7th and 1st place was an AWESOME surprise! Woohoo! :D Also, I would like them to make a new Nargacuga variant named *"Pitch Black Nargacuga"* with extremely dark fur and evil yellow eyes! :D
