One of the coolest turf wars is Anja vs Rathalos because while you are playing, Anjanath looks like the king of the area, but then rathalos comes in and picks him up

@@tankhonghong706 -The sheer weight of a tyrannosaur falling onto itself would be enough to topple and break bones. -Rathalos is STRONG. He regularly lifts prey like Aptonoths with his legs alone. Those wings help more than you could imagine with lifting things, as well. -The spread a theropod’s legs can reach is only so wide. Once they reach a certain tipping point, they’re going to fall over on their side. The same goes for humans, but more so for dinosaurs like him, because they have so much weight to shift around in other directions, but no consistent way to shift it from side to side. They can’t exactly sidestep or cross their legs to deal with being sent off-balance.

Here’s hoping one thing for perhaps the next minster hunter game. Hopefully they keep expanding on this and we get full fledged ecosystems, with a full on food chain dynamic to it. I’m hoping no more turf wars where they tie, They are more cinematic that way. Also holding out hope that if turf wars happen when monsters are at low hp there is a “death animation” turf war.

Not gonna lie, I was laughing my ass off when that savage Jho clocked you with that rathalos. Was not expecting that.

I like how Odogaron proves being aggressive enough to take on an Elder Dragon doesn't always mean being able to challenge one. Vaal Hazak casually wrecks it with its effluvium.

Never realised Banbaro vs Beotodus was so anticlimactic at the beginning without battle music

Of course Rajang got slapped away; Nerigante outweighs him probably by several times. Rajang still tied with him and got in just as good as hit as he got.

Anjanath is like a smaller, less pickle-y, deviljho to small monsters.

Dolorem no it was modeled off of the one then copy pasted for the rest of the same models example Tigrex vs any brute wyvern it’s the same and it s also the same for Barioth and narga since they just copy pasted it for every pseudo wyvern. It’s really lame when you figure that out and it makes them all the more anticlimactic

Blas Felip Himmelreich fair point, let’s be honest tho, less than half of the turf wars shown are even accurate based on some of these monsters lore. Hell we don’t get to see glavenus use his sword like tail in a turf war lmao. On that note, if this were an accurate fight, I think rajang would be able to beat Val by overwhelming him with his raw power. But if he lets him chance to spray a big cloud of effluvium, then he’ll be in trouble bc not even odogaron can handle it and he lives down there.

One day great jagras will be the most lethal out there I always feel inclined to save him when he gets attacked

I really like the turf wars but I feel in a future MH they should elaborate more on the fights instead of being this guy is bigger, he wins or like this two monsters share the same skeletal structure as the other two, therefore the same animation even if this time it doesn't make sense. Really hope they keep evolving this fights.

I think Capcom reused animation to save time, but I do believe that turf wars really adds something unique to mhw and I would love to see each monsters use their special abilities. e.g. Brachy slime to make fights interesting.

Furious Rajang will almost certainly have the same Turf Wars in a potential future update to this, but Raging Brachydios is a different story considering that, like the Metal Raths, is Elder-level rather than Apex-level like his base counterpart.

@@GunlessSnake true, but stygian zinogre although a threat level 3 like the elders get pushed around by threat level 2 monsters like fulgur anjanath, yian garuga, brachydios, etc. It will definitely be interesting to see if Capcom have some surprise turf wars with raging brachy though.

@@MonsterSlayerSquad Well, Stygian Zinogre lore-wise was never considered an Elder-level threat, meanwhile Raging Brachydios is AND he's been given more spotlight as a threat compared to his fellow Variant, Furious Rajang. I'm hoping these 2 will have a Turf War with each other.

Same with Glavenus using his tail. These two aren’t accurately represented.

Fun fact: the reason why Bazel takes more damage than Jho in their turf war is because Bazel has more health than Jho, and the damage dealt by turf wars is a percentage of a monster's maximum health. I do wish that there was any sort of Brute Wyvern vs. Brute Wyvern fight. Missed opportunity for a Brachydios and Glavenus fight.

I agree not all of them were shot from the best angles, but it was difficult trying to make certain monsters encounter each other. e.g. Rathalos rarely encounters other monsters so it was difficult making it encounter other monsters and specially in a nice area where I can view it nicely.

I love how they included these to the game- it made trap setting + world viewing so much more fun ^^

11:10 Dude, that was very impressive. This was like watching a Muy Thai fighter vs Brazilian Jui Jitsu fighter, and seeing how the Deviljo seems to grapple and just annihilate every monster so far with one take down, Nergigante being grappled but going with a big powerful "NOPE" strike/swipe point-blanl range to the face, was like watching 2 heavyweights go at it, and the grappler going for the headlocke and the striker breaking free is amazing! Edit: The same display of power from the Rajang is even more amazing!

While anjanath gets bullied by a rathalos, his cousin is taking in on older mh games flagships

Probably because the same animation is used for Glavenus Vs. Diablos, as with so many other ones like Rathalos(Yian Garuga) Vs. Zinogre, or Brachydios(Fulgar Anjanath) Vs. Tigrex(Nargacuga(Barioth)).

Yeah, weirdly they never copy pasted the Brute-Piscine turf war onto Uragaan and Lavasioth. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if Banbaro started development as Jade Barroth, but they decided to make it a new monster at some point.

I was needing this.

I had the experience to watch a few turf wars but my all time favorite is when I was hunting a Rathian and I chased it to a pack of Aptoceros,(Or whatever it is called) when I heard a very familiar roar and saw a Diablos straight up running to the Rathian, that two minute fight was AWESOME

Let's give props to those Barroths for holding their ground until getting bopped by a Diablos

Two of the Turf Wars I remember most from my playthroughs was Rathalos vs Rathian vs Anjanath with me caught literally underfoot of all three at once.DX The 2nd had been Odarogan(Giant Angry Clifford) vs Radoban. I ran away from Odarogan after I ran into it around a corner, slid into a bush, and hid, which soon ended up with a turf war between the two like 20ft in front of me. All I could do was stare at my screen in horror and think "Please don't knock me outta my bush".x.x

oh my god Odogaron vs Paolumu is literally dog vs squeaky toy

It's all fun and games till one of em clip through the map

It's kinda lame that the only examples are Rathian vs Diablos (which doesn't really count given how uniquely Blos uses the flying wyvern skeleton) and the Elder Dragon turf wars, which are amazing.

Sad that Garuga didn't get a different turf war match up from the other flying wyverns. Especially after its cutscene where it fights Deviljho, since it kind've raised the bar for flying wyverns with that. Speaking of which, it's sad that those two didn't get a turf war.

So Pickle vs Elder Dragons is basically point blank beam struggle

I honestly think that most of the brute wyverns turf wars belong to Fulgur Anjanath, mainly the ones with Pseudo Wyverns and yes even Zinogre, I mean why would Brachydios attack with its mouth when it has big exploding slimy arms and why would Glavenus attack upfront instead of using that massive tail of flames. When fighting Barioth or Tigrex and Nargacuga they always charge with their hip and if being honest... I think those movements belong to Anjanath, he has no powerful arms, he doesn’t have a bladed tail, his only weapons are the brute force and his powerful jaw, I just feel the Turf Wars could’ve been a little bit more creative exploding the unique potential of each monster. I’m not hating on the developers, this game is insane with details

I feel it was a missed opportunity to have a glavenus and rathian turf war. It could’ve been the one from mhgen where glavenus breaks rathians wing

Fun fact: the rathian from the glavenus ecology cutscene is the same rathian from generations. The spikes on one of the wings is destroyed. This rathian flew all the way to the new world only for the exact same thing to happen.

As cute as Paolumu is (sometimes), it's funny and adorable seeing Odogaron shake it like a dog with a stuffed animal.
