I also have a distinct memory of having watched it in theaters as a kid, having been lured in by the name "Final Fantasy". I can't remember what happened though.

The FGC already calls FFXIV their retirement home.

CEO in 2021 reserved a room they called the retirement home for people to bring their laptops so they could play endwalker. You know its real when tournament organisers have to take FFXIV releases into account.

For cloud servers, there is a physical data center somewhere. What cloud computing does is let you use resources on demand. So for example, you have a server and then your server is full, normally you'd have to either buy a second server or buy a bigger server. Instead of having to physically go out, buy a machine, then set it up, you can use the existing infrastructure of whatever service you use to either scale up to a larger machine or scale to more machines. So basically infrastructure is handled for you at a price.

Sakaguchi actually joked in his FF Pixel Master retrospective series that he asked Yoshi-p for Beastmaster to be included in the game, hence why I think a lot of people are convinced it's going to be the next limited job.

Also, just adding, but Beast Master and Puppet Master have been known to be on the short list of potential limited Job's since Blue Mage was first revealed back in Stormblood. And we have, more or less, lore on the concept of both of those at this point in game now.

A tank job that dual wields shields sounds like it coild be interesting actually

I get the feeling they want to make sure that there are enough people interested in doing the fall guys stuff going forward due to the nature of the game mode. I wouldn't be surprised if they make it monthly or seasonal, taking it away periodically and bringing it back will keep reviving interest.

talking about guilds in mmos and events and FCs in FFXIV.. in BDO, they have guild quests with rewards. some are collection, hunting, crafting, etc. I think it would be interesting if FFXIV could implement something like this.

That technically already was in the game in form of the old Diadem, you could only access that with airships from an FC. It got remodeled for good reason.

Viper using swords and not scimitars makes me think that they call it viper, not due to snakes, but rather "Twin Bite" sword attacks. Scimitars would have more of that exotic desert/jungle snake fantasy.

I can see Beastmaster being a fusion of Beastmaster and Morpher. Puppetmaster being basically Gundam Build Fighters sounds amazing.

"Cloud" just means they'll be paying Google or Azure or AWS or the like instead of owning their own servers. It will allow them to dynamically expand and shrink the capacity which should be better at handling busy times like launches and cheaper during content luil periods like this.

On the one had I'm really surprised by all the people who were confused by what a cloud server is, but on the other hand I'm a software dev, so may be a little biased.

My guess would be they use Microsoft for cloud stuff. Just random guess because of the move to Xbox recently, etc.

Calling it now, grand duchy or Jeuno will join the northern and southern continents and will be the main endgame hub full of fancy aristocrats making bank off the ceruleam but have run into either the shadowlord or the emptiness. Echoes of vanadiel will be north of Jeuno while the rest of DT takes places south of there

I’ve been in the same FC since 2016, but know no one in it. For some reason I’m an officer who predates anyone else joining so they kind of all assume I’m someone important and don’t boot me. I stick around for the buffs when new expansions launch since everyone in it kind of disappears after the first year.

Either I don't understand this comment or you're living under a rock. After it's initial localized realase JP was still getting new content at the time, and the localization only released with the first 3 episodes. Over the course of a year or two they updated global to be current with JP (which was up to episode 9) Then pso2ngs released. Vanilla is now basically on maintenence mode. Ngs is pso2 now and they update the game quarterly, with smaller updates in-between. To bad the game kinds sucks

@@shayusu8317 It's that years back, like during ARR days, FFXIV and PSO2 did a little collab where PSO2 got Odin as a special boss for a while but FFXIV got nothing and hasn't since then

beliece it or not the game already has a gambling tag which is why the gold saucer does not exist in the Chinese version of the game.

Alliance Raids are strange. I think that, in a way, they can’t actually be super good. Just because of the function they serve. I don’t know how to explain it.

They could always tie in the quest line "A Journy to Remember" due to the fact that Iroha technically did not get to go back to Vana'diel in the quest.
