idk i thought EW trailer was better than DT. DT seems so lacking and unexciting. ShB obviously the best. The Viper reveal was probably the most "eh...i guess" job reveal i've ever seen. Hoping the caster job is more exciting

Unfortunately FF14 catering to a game I like won't be enough to salvage the mediocre gameplay that became normalized with EW. Hard disagree about the Dawntrail trailer though. It's just generic slice of life anime opening with nothing really happening. Also disagree about Estinien being the only one who gets shit done. Thancred has been a competent solo spy, almost solo'd Ran'jit without any aether, and is still an mvp in EW. So far nothing about DT has given me the impression that it's fixing any of the issues I (and you) have stated about the game, and your opinion about AR has just shifted to "I don't care about the issues its design will have, it's FF11."

1.0 and ARR were "new" stories and their trailers had a lot more teasing going on of bigger things happening. It's obvious Dawntrail will go in a different direction than a simple summer vacation given the dungeons/bosses they've shown, yet they're playing it so safe with the trailer that it ends up being anti-hype. I'm hoping there will be something more exciting on the full version but I doubt, and with where the story is right now, I highly doubt the epilogue in 6.55 will have anything interesting...
