Very cool, thanks for the insight. I guess I'm gonna buy VCarve Pro. I have a pile of wood and a cnc waiting patiently for me to get it together.

Good to see you back into guitar building tutorials. I'm days away freeing the funds for purchasing the Long-Mill MK2 3030 and a new HP Victus 15 laptop . I am stocking my garage workshop with everything needed to sit the Long-Mill on a 4x4 tortion box . Will have to wait a year to buy the Vectric Aspire, but between Solidworks and V-Carve , and your files, I should enough to keep me busy.

That's awesome. My Longmill is one of the first gen models, but still works. Maybe I'll upgrade some day.

I have a few things I need to address. I've been swamped these past couple months. I wanted to answer some viewers comments on this. Hopefully this weekend, I have nothing planned...I shouldn't say that too loud!

I messed around with it some more and even tried some tips from other viewers and I still can't get that small ledge to disappear.

Hi Jayce, I tried several times to do the neck in V-Carve Pro as I have that. I followed you on your video, but when it came to the toolpath section and viewing the results, the headstock looked extremely thin in comparison to when you did it. Any idea of what I am doing wrong? I did it in inches, I converted it to mm but it didn't work either way. When you viewed your preview, there was still a fair bit of timber on the headstock, when I viewed mine, the headstock looked almost paper-thin. I tried the 3D model 0 above the model and I pushed the level down to the bottom to see what that would do but it made it even thinner. If you could help me in this, it would be great. Thank you

@@michael-m-de1ck So a few things to check, when you import the 3D component for the headstock, make sure that when you are in Position and Import that you set Depth Below Top to 0 and also make sure to UNCHECK the Create Both Sides box. Then in the Component Properties dialog check Shape Height, and try setting it to half the thickness of your neck blank, which should be 0.80 so half would be 0.40. Leave base height at 0. Give that a try and let me know.

@@JayceAllanGuitar Hi Jayce, Thank you for the reply. Before I try your suggestions, I noticed the tuning peg holes are set to a 1.8-inch depth of cut, I'm assuming that's an error and should be the same thickness as the neck material? I will try the setup and let you know the outcome. In your video, you mentioned saving the part with the headstock, then deleting the 3D model of the headstock before doing the neck back, Do you mean just to save it to my PC like saving any other file, then doing the neck back with the new neck back 3D model so that the V-Carve program doesn't spit the dummy because of more than one 3D model imported? Thank you. Regards

@@JayceAllanGuitar Hi Jayce, It looks like I was able to get the neck front sorted out, thank you for the info and help, Also, I think I have found a way to get rid of the shelves as you call them which run along the sides of the neck when doing the neck back. If you have an email I can send you pics, I also just want to clarify a few things. Thank you, Kind regards, Michael
