This is something great about everyone having camera phones, and internet!!!!! We get to see hidden gems, and giant model collections, that have take 20-40 years to collect and build, and the quality of them is great as well!!!! Thank you for sharing your dads collection!!!!

That's wonderful, the problem with hobby models and shelves is that is takes a hell of a job to keep them clean from the accumulated dust.

Though it looks way obsessive to have so many, I actually like seeing them out in the open like that. It reminds me of when I was young and operated on more of an imagination, instead of stressing over preserving things as a treasure.. (and my dream model room would also be overloaded with F-14s). 🙂

I looked at building one for 1:144 aircraft and that worked at over 7.5 ft+ long.

Jesse, tell your dad is so awesome. Tell him he had made my day. I had a strong passion about planes and I'll become a pilot when I'm older rn I'm 15. Tell your dad had made my day to normal to extremely satisfied. I can tell your father is such a hard worker creating those treasures. If that was my room, those planes would be 1 or 2 pieces of my heart. Tell your father hes awesome and his planes look so sick and awesome. He should be a modelest plane maker👍

Very cool. I don't build anymore but when my uncle passed away (we used to build together when I was 12 and he was a teen) I took as many of his collection as I could. I still love aitroplanes and flew RC for years. I aspire to get my sport pilots licience.

FlyBaby I used to sit and do my homework while my dad built them. I loved those times.

..I have a pretty large collection as well. Will post it some day. Tip 1 from a fellow scale modeller, dust off your entire collection with a no 5 soft paint brush once a year. While you're at it repair loose, broken parts and decals. Tip 2, if you have the time (!) put a new clear matt varnish (Humbrol I use) on the oldest models and they will look as fresh as new for many years to come.

Dude that is amazing!! You probably know more about Naval Aviation than most pilots. All those squadron patches will be worth a pretty penny some day. Those aren't easy to get, especially since the Tomcat has been retired. Hold onto them and keep the dust off. You must have gone through a gallon of glue!!!!!!! Cool stuff.

Exceptional skills there sir. Only one criticism; I have invested in an old fashioned shaving brush to frequently dust my models, considering the time and money I have invested in building them.

Wow, incredible collection. Is there a F-14 for every squadron that flew them? You need a picture of an F-14 about to break the sound barrier....lots of vapor flow.

We have mostly F-14's. My dad's favorite. There's probably some French planes in the cellar.

Are they metal or plastic build model?. You have anmazing collection. I suggest you of you can change the wooden shelves by a class shelves so you can get more lights to your bottom models also you can add led strip to make your model well attractive

You know you have a lot of model airplanes when you have more model airplanes than any Air Force or Naval/Marine Air Station. Even Nellis AFB or NAS Fallon don't have that many during Red Flag or Top Gun.
