MobileSentrix - Tired of sh!t parts that are fake. Ways to make techs look bad to a client

This is a rant video. I am quite tired of the cheap shit parts on the market advertised as good. I have been rotating between vendors looking for the good stuff. Quality parts that we can offer to our clients with our quality service. We are also in a small little country in the heart of South America, so shipping costs and shipping times can be tricky. Returns are almost never an option unless we order Thousands of USD at a time that are all defective. That being said, we try to find the best B2B sellers that have a good reputation. Today I learned that MS is not one of those for their small parts.
I wait weeks to receive forwarded mail in small orders internationally. In the end, to get shit parts. Our client's have an expectation that I will have his iPhone fixed in around an “x” period of time as parts need to be ordered. If they approve this time frame, we go ahead and order the part that evening. Then... I get the parts after "x" time and they are trash.
Now the client gets to decide, what should he do? Has he received a good experience? Has a Quality repair been preformed in "x" time? Should he leave me a bad review because I did not deliver the service within “x” and am asking for “2x” time now? Is this shop professional? Are their services professional?
If I can’t offer a part that I ordered for a client as a good part, what about my other parts? Should I Lie saying the shipment was delayed? What do I do to save face? Well... Switch providers seems like the answer, until this bullshit practice is not an industry standard that is being followed by MS.
Really... this is not cool. We represent quality here locally and when my orders have fake parts in them that are trash, how does that reflect on my business and how we operate on a daily bases? We would love to have all the parts we need in stock, but some times we can’t fit them all in our location or justify their price and need to make a quick order or 2 knowing the repair is approved.
Do You like quality? Check out our other videos on how we preform quality repairs. Also check out logi.wiki/index.php/Main_Page for some quality information to aid you in your repairs.
--UPDATE --
As of March 2021, it seems that the quality of the Front Flex cables have been resolved. I received some replacement units at no cost and they have the correct components and are of a good quality. One of my buddies in the UK also has verified that he received good cables and is finally pleased with their quality. (So it wasn't just to please me, but seems they have resolved it)

gf.me/u/y8k3hi - This video; while being one of your best ones yet, was also one of the more saddening. Joe, it is terrible to see that you, my dear friend, cannot afford a decent quality chair but rather must resort to squatting on some cheap piece of ocean destroying plastic. And all because you keep wasting those precious Paraguayan guaraní on shoddy imports! Well; no more my friend, no more.

Thank you for documenting the quality of these parts. Awareness of these fake parts is needed and hopefully will help improve the quality control of replacement parts in our industry. Keep up the good work!

THANK YOU! I don't know how this video ended up in my recommendations but I can confirm all my 11 / Pro prox flex cables from MS (allegedly "premium" grade) have come this way too.

Recently in the past month or so - it seems that they have revised their 11 series flex cables. One of my friends in the UK has verified he got good cables also. I have had a few talks with MS and am disappointed that these were even sold in the first place :( I hope you got yours taken care of!

Bro as a tech once the proximity is damaged all parts are aftermarket meaning you will never get a proximity sensor fully functional unless its directly from apple. Screens on the other note are the best. I work for asurion phone tech and solutions and we order mobile sentrix and from distro and they are amazing. Also run my own side business. You should let customer know you can replace prox but face ID will not work ever.

Bro… be a better tech and transfer prox and light sensor… light sensor flex was damaged on my clients iPhone for this order - and as you can see, these front flex cables had some plastic trash glued on. There was not flex to transfer asl to… About 30% of the screens I get are doa.l in one way or another… Another 50% have issues like delaminating. I am international and buy refurbished screens. Even iPad Pro 11” screens don’t work right with Apple Pencil. Will surly be making a video of that soon. I offer quality and was sent something that was represented differently on their page (with asl - not plastic trash glued on) it also costs me 100s to RMA something for a refund…

Would you say the mobile sentrix screens work well with an Apple Pencil?

@@ate810 me? Joni would say they do not. It seems that this is a pretty wide already issue at the moment across various sellers… my issue was the lie MS told me and how they dismissed my issues and my clients issues… as it was supposedly a problem with the iPad, not the screen they sent

Ive been using this company for quite sometime, Mobile Sentrix has never been short of profesional, Honestly I have really never had a problem with their parts and the times I have had an issue with a part there customer service has been excellent. Seems to me someone is having a bad day here, hey it happens. O have been repairing peoples phones since the iphone 4s were out remember how much fun those were lol.

Depends on the quality you like. I have a separate vendor I use for screens or try to buy pulled screens. Other people seem to like MS screens though. The few I have ordered in a pinch were not bad.

Not to bash on your video but as an experienced tech as I'm not biased and have had my fair share of defective small parts and MS is no exception. However you should know those are test points even in the OEM. There is supposed to be adhesive, not soldered. Also Face ID will not work unless you transfer the small components with soldering.

  • @JosephHughes

From the OEM these types of connections are soldered, just like quite a few iPad charging port, Apple Watch screen flex, iPhone 12 5t antenna… They are NOT test points. They are conductive vías that go between the flex and the ambient light sensor that are soldered… you should know that if you are speaking with experience… I ordered these because I needed that particular flex. The clients was severely liquid damaged below the ambient light sensor. Pads were missing and jumpers were not doing the job for his particular repair. The part was advertised as the complete assembly, small components were going to be transferred with micro soldering so that truetone and Face ID would work… that was the point. I know you are not trying to bash my video, but do some research before you look like an idiot to other technicians.

No body makes fake part every single parts come from China and those are after market quality is good , you complain like you dealing with direct apple I think you are new in bussiness.

I think you need to watch the video again. A dummy part (something that is designed to look like it is a part, but is non functional - Like the plastic ALS that is glued on these cables) is a fake part. Best of luck in your business adventures.
