being at the final game was so incredibly emotional. but i am glad the captain was able to finish his career at home in front of so many fans that love him. one of the greatest to ever do it.

As a Yankee Fan, David Wright was such a likeable guy both on and off the field. He deserved a World Series ring and I was happy for him in 2015 when we came back and hitting that home run at Citi Field in game 3 was electrifying to watch live on TV.

Nobody really knows nor appreciates the man David Wright is. He's not only one of the best baseball players to ever play, but some say he was also one of the most inspiring players in baseball history, which is saying a lot. He was not only loved by his team and his fans, but he was loved by players all throughout the entire planet. He is probably the best clutch hitter to ever play baseball.

Delgado, reyes, Wright, Kaz matsui, piazza , pedro, cliff floyd, mike Cameron, glavine, beltran... those were the days

David Wright was the master of opposite field hits.

Looking back at that Carlos Lee play where his head snapped into the dirt. That's probably where his neck and back problems started 😢

Didnt even know he played in the home run derby in NY. Thats Awsome.

He is so much like pedroia. An amazing grind-it-out player who would be a first ballot HOFer without being laden by injuries his whole career

I was at game 3 of the World Series and I still get chills seeing and hearing that HR from Wright. Never felt a stadium shake like that before it was absolute madness

Good ball player, solid. I remember when he got hit in the head with a fastball I didn't think he would be the same. He had a strong mind and overcame. He will be missed.

He would be a first ballot Hall of Famer if injuries didn’t derail his career. Who knows, he probably would still be playing with the Mets today if that didn’t happen. He’s one of the greatest third baseman I’ve ever seen.

One of the best hitting third baseman ever. Shame he never got a ring. The Mets have had some of the best of the best, best fielding first baseman ever in hernandez, best fielding short stop ever in ordonez, best hitting catcher ever in piazza, and several of the best pitchers in the game ever, but they were only ever to put it all together a few times. But as far as beloved players go, few have what Wright had.

This man gave everything for this team. He shows that he loves the mets and wants too win. In his last game he WALKED he knew it was his last game didn't try to hit a hr or a hit he just wanted the mets too win. LGM
