16-3 overall. Didn’t lose a World Series game after Game 2 in 1996 until Game 3 in 2000.

I know their dynasty status will be questioned because they never won back-to-back championships but the 2010-2014 Giants went three for three in the World Series with a combined record of 12-4 in those three World Series (4-1 in '10, 4-0 in '12, 4-3 in '14). That's extremely impressive as well.

The Yankees essentially had a home crowd 5 games in a row.
Both game 5s of the Mets 2000 and 2015 world series had their ace starter stay the mound in the 9th.

If Degrom is that guy this year... I hope they win. I'm a Yankee fan. I love Degrom though, he is so goddamn good. He's NL MVP/CY Young easy. I'd say Ohtani but he's with a team that will do NOTHING this year, like usual. I know most people don't see it that way, but I believe MVP should be awarded to players who play for teams that matter.

@Shotgunner42 Really? Then name the players from the 96', 98'-00' Yankees that did steroids. Andy Pettitte who admitted to using them in 02' which is after The 4 championships I commented about and Clemens who came in 99' after they already won two. Who else? Knoblauch? Who else because a million is a lot so there must be more? Because The Dynasty Core that was apart of all 4 Champion teams beside Pettitte who I already addressed which is Jeter, Rivera, Bernie, O'neill, Tino, Cone, Jeff Nelson, Sojo and Mendoza all were never involved in that BS. But like they say when you're great they hate so it comes with the territory.

They don't suck bro. The dynasty Yanks was just something you'll never see again. They were the lone exception to the rule of the MLB playoffs (from 1995 to present) basically being random. When a team who wins 58% of the time plays a team who wins 56% of the time in a best of 5, that's basically just a coin toss. Theres no strategy to employ, or players to get etc that can overcome the random factor of a short series btw similar teams. People don't like to admit that for some reason....but the Yankees just have to keep getting to October, and one of these years they'll catch the breaks and win it all.

As a Yankee fan, if the series match up is between the too I want the Yankees to win. However if it's the Mets vs. anyone else, Mets all the way. For the city, the match up would be a "win-win".
There are lots of overlooked moments in this series. People tend to think the Mets got smoked because it was only five games, but they didn't. It was actually quite tense. Game 1 there was the Timo Perez blunder which resulted in him getting thrown out at home. Going into the ninth inning the Yankees were down and had to rally to tie and ultimately walk off in extras. In game 2 the Mets put up a five spot in the ninth inning to put them within one but fell short. After taking game 3, it appeared that the Mets were gaining momentum, but that was taken away in game 4 with Jeter's first pitch homer (even that game was decided by one run). Finally, Piazza narrowly missed the sweet spot in hitting a two out game tying shot in game 5.
Mom would always say, "let your little brother win one."
As a lifelong yankee fan and met hater, I waited my entire life for this. Turned out just fine

So true as a Native NY’er ‘78.. I was amazed watching my Yanks destroy the Mets, I cried of pure joy!
Please continue to make videos like this because this was amazing and I love the length of it. But it is missing Derek Jeter's game-tying home run in the sixth of game 5 to seal his MVP that was one of the great moments of the series and one of his great career moments.
I watched every minute of that series. Including 2001 to that didn't go so well. But was still awesome.
Even tho the Mets got destroyed in this series it’s still unreal how this happened 2 New York teams that are bitter rivers play at the biggest stage we might never see it again

Piazza not getting in front of the runner on that throw late in game 5 letting posada cross the plate in front of him was a bit of a bonehead mistake. If Piazza was were he was supposed to be in front of the runner it was a pretty good throw. It’s possible Posada might have been out but even if not Broscious doesn’t score at least.

I wouldn't call a best-of-seven series that was over after five games "epic." Not a single World Series during that 1998-2000 Yankees three-peat was "epic." They went a combined 12-1 over those three World Series. Sure, it's a historic dynasty and it's great for their fan base but the only "epic" World Series those Yankees teams actually took part in was 2001. That's the only one that went seven games and it had tons of walk-off wins for both teams.
