Mitla Ruins Archaeological Site | English| Subtitles | Oaxaca | Mexico

In this video I am exploring the ruins of Mitla in Oaxaca, Mexico. These are, once again some aazing Aztec Ruins. This is a stunning archaeological site. Here you will get a glimpse into the Aztec Empire and some Aztec HIstory.
These are really neat ruins as there is the church onsite, with the courtyards. The major Mayan temple stands close along with tombs which are fun to explore.
This is a great day trip for anyone looking for tours in Oaxaca. Oaxaca City has a lot to offer, and it is close to a lot of Mayan Ruins including mayan temples and mayan pyramids.
Please note, this video is in English, not Spanish but it does have subtitles. It has English subtitles, French subtitles and Spanish subtitles.

This was a fantastic location to finish up our Mexico trip. These ruins were amazing. Yeah, the stairs to that church were a lot - you would really want to go up there in order to do it all the time. You really have to know what a fair price is for taxi's or else they really will charge you whatever - what's why you always agree to a price before you leave when in Mexico!

Thanks Andre! I am really glad to hear you enjoyed the series! There were so many wonderful things to see on this trip. Mexico has a very bad reputation. And although there is always some truth to it, I didn't see much of it at all on this trip. I had a fantastic time and wouldn't think twice about going back. It's a wonderful land with some wonderful people. It's a shame that poverty is so present there. I think that is one thing that scares people, and realistically, why crime exists to the extent is does. That being said, we never had any issues and we never scared in any of the places we were - even when I was by myself.

Thanks. The 2017 average gasoline price in Mexico for regular was 15.8 pesos/liter, or about 60 pesos per gallon, so a 50-mile roundtrip gasoline cost at 25 mpg in 2017 was about 120 pesos.@@DestinationEarth

@@aguazulize One additional note to keep in mind for those looking to take a taxi in Mexico - cabs (especially in smaller communities) are often communal - meaning if you are going a longer route, the driver will pick up and drop off people along the way (helps keep cab fare very budget friendly). If you choose a private ride, that is also an option, but you'll be paying a much higher premium than what is referenced in this video (providing they still use the same systems as they did 6 years ago (2017)).

Good video. But Mitla became the main religious one in a later period as the area became dominated by the Mixtec. It's a zapotec culture. It's not Mayan or aztec. The name Mitla is derived from the Nahuatl name Mictlán, meaning the "place of the dead" or "underworld." Its Zapotec name. 😊
