This was my dad's favorite song. He made me learn it on the flute in high school. I made first chair with it. On his death bed I played it for him. He sighed when the song was over. Last thing he ever did or said when living. It made him so happy to remember it. It must have reminded him of me. He did teach it to me by whistling it first so I could learn it on the flute.

Applause from the other side of the world. The presence of this flutist is not merely formidable; it is an embodiment of overwhelming authority that transcends the realms of artistic excellence, technical proficiency, and interpretative depth. This singular presence, in itself, suffices to warrant her an elevated appraisal, surpassing the conventional metrics of artistic and technical evaluation. It emanates from an intricate synthesis of profound understanding and fervent passion for the art form, thereby instilling in both the audience and performers an indelible impact. Through her performances, she not only demonstrates technical mastery and insightful interpretation but also infuses her renditions with a distinctive essence, thereby leaving an enduring impression upon the listeners. This presence, thus, forms the nucleus of her performances, adeptly conveying the quintessence of music and eliciting profound emotional responses from the audience.
