I am not Native American, but for some reason, the music, dances, and instruments that are used by them stir my heart. As a child, I had always wanted to be part of the proud Native Americans. This is a beautiful rendition of this song.

I am a native of the miskitu Indian from central America of Nicaragua from the Caribbean coast there music remaind me of my tradition of my ancestors the music of the jungle it's give a peace in my heart 😢

There's just something so emotional about these kinds of traditional instruments. It's like you become a part of nature. ❤

My dad was a Vietnam vet, he passed last year, this was his favorite song, I have never heard this melody sound so graceful & beautiful. Thank You sir.

I think I can relate, when I feel angry and want to be alone, when I can't talk to anyone and I want to be alone. This is one of my favorite songs and with this instrument, something about the pan flute that is calming, I'm a combat vet and I suffer from PTSD. It's not a cure but it helps calm the rage

It's not easy to blow these instruments. I had a panpipe flute, it requires technique, skills and stamina. My fullest and deepest respect and salute to them!

After studying clarinet for 2 years, I thought that learning pan flute shouldn't be too hard. I had tremendous difficulty even getting one note to sound right and doing that made me dizzy. I gave up after a few days of trying.

What's really ironic is that Paul Simon said that the song had no meaning, it was simply a dream he had and he wrote the song about it. I think it's because it has a familiar, relatable tone. It's almost nostalgic but more melancholic than comforting or celebratory. To me, listening to it feels like watching something beloved slowly slipping away and I can't stop it. It was good to have it in my life and any attempt I make at trying to preserve it is admirable but futile. These feelings are met with and eventually reconciled with grief.
