The directional arrow on my Minn Kota Edge 55 was not aligned with my trolling motor, this is how I adjusted it.

The last 2 trolling motors i bought from minnkota were perfectly aligned already from factory.Granted its 2024 now so maybe tgey are pre aligning them at the factory now. Its crazy you would ever have to remove the head and adjust anything.Especially being brandnew. I could see if it was used and someone preferred the arrow a certain way and purposely changed it.

Great info ... Thanks. I have a 55# Maxxum on my Heritage and have been wanting to do a similar thing. This should be very similar for me. 👊

Thanks! I also messed up and pulled the black piece off… so having trouble getting it back in place due to wire tension now that it’s off

Did you ever end up fixing it?

The yellow plastic piece attached to the white gear on mine keeps breaking. Very frustrating design it appears.

The head just turns lol No needs to take all that apart.

I'm aware the head turns...that wasn't the issue. The issue was the yellow arrow cap was installed incorrectly by the manufacture. So no mater how far I adjusted the head, the arrow and the motor direction never matched up. Removing the head top allowed me to lift the yellow cap, set it in the correct position, and match the motor direction.

Instead of releasing the tension. You should just be able to just turn the arrow.
