Thanks, are the subs both the same model also? Minirig 3 from the video sound louder but sub is not as define as with Minirig 4. It could be just the recording but would be good to hear exactly from you on what you feel or hear is the main difference between the two. Can’t wait also from another youtuber (Allan Ross) his comparison on this.

hi, yes the two subs are both subwoofer 3. Probably due to the new thinner signature in the bass, you can better appreciate the impact of the sub; even if the sub may sound too loud at high gain for the minirig set at 50% volume. (It also depends a lot on the genres you listen to) In the two final tracks it is in low gain and the sound is more balanced, the minirig 3 having a more open and incisive sound is perfectly balanced with the sub which was created precisely for that. Generally, even if the sound of the Minirig 4 is flatter, especially at high volumes, the sound tends to be cleaner. A greeting 👋

👍. Would be nice with the same test with the same percieved volume instead of the same percentage. The different models scales the volume very differently so it's hard to compare since the minirig 4 sounds to be at a much lower volume. I think 70% of the 4 is about the same as 50% in high gain on the 3. When in 100% volume it should be almost similar in volume.

yes, maybe I will add it, in fact you have to go up to about 60-70% on minirig 4 to have the same volume as minirig 3 at 50% but in the final stages you can feel the increase in power more on minirig 4

I can’t believe how much better the 3’s sound. I feel like I must be missing something here. Haha Now I really want the 3’s.

Why 3 1.1 sounds much louder? I don't get it.

Hi, minirig 3 sounds louder especially if set to high gain, if we put both minirig 3 and 4 at 50% volume because the volume levels are managed differently, in practice minirig 4 must be set at 60-70% to play at the same level as the minirig 3 at 50%, however by increasing the volume you will hear the difference in power in favor of the minirig 4, a greeting 👋

I have 4 x MINIRIG 3’s and two subs, which I have split into 2 x 2.1’s linked in stereo for home cinema. Each 2.1 system is tripod mounted and angled forward on 3D printed brackets. They sound clear for very precise dialogue with plenty of bass. I only listen to them in low gain mode with the volume pumped up. I don’t listen in high gain at those kind of volumes. I’m not sure the 4’s will be an improvement for my style of use? Unfortunately they sound like they’ve gone the route of everyone else and just made a mass appeal, conventional boom box. A real shame. The 3’s will now be worth a premium on the second hand market. I might buy a couple more before they become too expensive!🤔

Hi, nice set 😉 in the 4 the gain has been unified, Minirig says it was done to simplify its use, I imagine you connect them via cable? in theory nothing should change, you just probably won't turn the volume up to max anymore, a greeting 👋

Great comparison and about time👍🥳🥳🥳 and it's all about the MR3 sound wise. The MR4 sounds so muddy and muffled 😮😮🙉 I'll stick with the MR3 , even with the rubbish app for now. Not sure I'll get the MR4's....I'm really intrigued by the Brane X. It's expensive but nothing some saving up won't fix👍🏽😁

hi and thank you, in reality the Minirig 4 sounds very defined only that at the same volume level 50% it sounds much lower than the minirig 3, you have to go up to around 70% with the 4 and it releases its power more in the final phases of the volume, in the first songs the sub sounds excessive with minirig 4 (sub in high gain) in fact in the next 2 songs you can hear a better balance (sub in low gain) you can also adjust the EQ to balance the minirig and sub better if you want keep it at high gain, however by increasing the volume in the final phases the sound will be more balanced. Then it will also depend on the genres you listen to, unfortunately you cannot control the subwoofer level from the app (at least not for now). The brane looks amazing from the specs, a bit expensive though 😅 a greeting👋
