As much as this video is appreciated, the editor put the Optus logo over the score (runs vs balls remaining) - such a critically important part of this game - how no one fixed this before releasing is beyond me.

Had the privilege of being there. Was 12 years old and went with my dad. Eternally grateful to my late grandparents for gifting me tickets for Christmas for that game.

Plus the bloke behind the suit and persona pretty much got cancelled after some "Islamophobic" comments about South Africa's Muslim contigent during their tour a decade ago. Plus the bloke lives in the US commentating on golf these days.

Bevan's finest game. It never gets old. What a pity ODI has been reduced to the poor cousin of T20. Since ODI went to pay TV in Australia I no longer get to see it.

Still unbelievable watching this 25 years later. I was at a New Years party in Sydney sneaking updates on TV & radio. At 6/38 you wouldn't have put found money on Australia. To this day an incredible win.

Those were the times in winter times I used to wait to watch World Series Cup just to see the jersys.

Saw this one live on TV at a friend's house. At around 4 pm IST we were sure that it's a lost cause for Australia, but Bevan had other plans and snatched an improbable victory for the Aussies. Even as a neutral the match was very exciting till the last ball.Felt sorry for Roger Harper though. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏼

Best odi batsman of all time for me. Maybe MSD is up there and Kohli might overtake him by the end of his career but for the amount times Bevo won Oz the game when we were dead and buried.

Grensvegter19 Abd to me is a maverick. He can destroy teams on his day but is he consistent in world tournaments? His up there with virat atm as the best in odis but im sorry no odi wc for me means he would miss out on goat in odis. Btw i watched a lot of of fastest innings and his a freak but I prefer his consistency in tests.

+mrheartbane lol consistent in WC? AB's avg in 2011 wc was 88 and in 2015 wc his avg was 95 with a S/R of 146 . How about that for consistency?

Carl Hooper did not play in the 1996 World Cup citing personal reasons..... Did not play in the 1999 World Cup because Bryan Lara was made captain ahead of him.... Or else he would have appeared in 5 straight World Cups from 1987 to 2003.... And he was the captain in the latter....

I don't think 1999 reason being Lara was made captain. Lara captained wi from 1998 April , Hooper played many matches in 1998 including CT 1998 .
