Milwaukee 1/2" Mechanics Tool Set [SQUARE SOCKETS]

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

With this Milwaukee 1/2" Mechanics tool set, you get a 47-piece kit that includes SAE and Metric with shallow and deep-well sockets. A single 1/2" drive ratchet accompanies the kit along with a 3-inch and 5-inch extension. The model number for this Milwaukee 1/2" drive tool set is 48-22-9010.
The uniqueness of Milwaukee's sockets is the four flat sides on the anvil end of each socket. The deep and shallow sockets in the Milwaukee 48-22-9010 set all have this square end. This profile provides two benefits. First, the sockets don't like to roll away like every other socket you probably own. Second, this provides a place to use a wrench, adjustable wrench, or pliers to grasp the socket, allowing you to access fasteners in much tighter areas.
Milwaukee is after the Professional with their Mechanics Tools lineup. The ratchet is a heavyweight, in a good way. The slim head design and teardrop shop has a rugged frame, yet provides access for those tight spots. The ratchet and all the sockets include a chrome plating for protection against the elements as well as allowing fast cleanup from those greasy hands.
Home Depot has this Milwaukee 48-22-9010 47-piece kit for $249, and this includes a lifetime warranty. Warrantying a tool is as easy as emailing Miwalwaukee with a description, a picture of the broken tool, and your address. #thdprospective #homedepot #miwlaukeetool #nothingbutheavyduty

I bough the craftsman 1/2 metric deep-well impact sockets from Lowe’s. I was infuriated that it didn’t have a 10mm. Also, this set I think is meant to be a kit that you can keep in your car or truck. If it doesn’t have a 10mm, then you eliminate a huge portion of buyers! This is a set that you could use to fix a lot of stuff on your vehicle. Imagine buying a $250 socket set, and then having to drive to the store just to get a 10mm.

That's crazy that it didn't have a 10mm. Already lost before you lose it!! They should all come with a 10mm, it had to just be a mistake. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Good review on the Milwaukee tool set. And yes your right on other brands putting in filler like you said. But yes the Milwaukee is pricey. But for the quality, especially the sockets are shape is kinda I guess worth it, they could add a bit more extensions bars. For the price thou. But overall great review!😊👍

great review i liked checking the pawl mechanism and going indepth on sizes, could probably get away with an adjustable wrench on all the sockets as theyre CR-V and wont slip and round like a nut/bolt would, looks like theres room in the top of the case if you wanted to drop in some adapters or a swivel maybe a 7/16" for doing up common 1/4" hardware, sure half inch isnt the goto for 7/16" or 10mm bolts but if you grab this one kit thinking youre going to say replace a starter on a piece of equipment in the field or truck on the side of the road and ends up being a solenoid or electrical issue you might be glad to have the smaller sockets there, just an example

Those are great points, and yes, I do believe there is enough room around the edges to drop in a few extra tools. Thanks for chiming in.

thanks for the recommendations regarding the rigid high torque impact I bought it and its great. here is my dilemma. I own a tree service, we down have a shop yet, and we do a lot of our own mechanical work. im sick and tired of (my guys) loosing tools. I think having these sets that are easy to carry around with you and put the socket right back in the spot it goes and it actually stays in there will help. my question is. is there a way to get like the full range of what you need with out a ton of over lap from having to buy multiple sets? id prefer impact stuff so that I can use impact guns and impact ratchets for most everything. let me put it another way. if you had to through a few sets in the back set of a truck with you impact gun and impact ratchet, to be able to do just about anything on a f550 truck, what would you pick. (need wrenches, sockets the whole 9 yards) so far we have gotten by with some husky or Lowes kits but the cases are worthless junk and everything falls out the second you pick it up.

also have bought like a small kit of large impact sockets from northern tool and we borrow some big stuff from my neighbor but his stuff isn't organized either so you are digging around through draws like Russian Roulet looking for the right size socket its maddening

I think it's interesting that both DeWalt and Milwaukee is going onto the hand too market. Are these true professional quality? Fun to see a head to head comparison with DeWalt. From what I've seen DeWalt is a lot cheaper. I like the removable tray.

I misinterpreted the title in the thumbnail, but I’m gonna ask anyways lol. I know this is a rookie question but can an eight point double square socket fit on a regular six point hex fastener? I found a few small double square sockets in my grandfathers collection, but I don’t have enough small enough in front of me to test.

8-point sockets will not work with 6-sided fasteners (nuts/bolts). 6-point and 12-point sockets will work with 6-sided fasteners. 8-point sockets are typically for square nuts/bolts. Thanks for asking.

Since the metric sockets take SAE wrenches on the square, I'm disappointed the SAE sockets don't take a metric wrench 🙃

Cmon Milwaukee, double down and square those extensions wth 🤦‍♂️ 😅 3/8 and 1/2 metric sets ordered, $85 THD and $140 NT Wondering if I get the 3 big deeps, can I shift everything over 3 spots and have them fit in the tray slots? 🤔 Imagine a world without bolts or sockets. And then in today's modern times, a call goes out in the name of global security "We need to invent sockets. Sockets to save the world! 🌎 " This is what they'd look like, no doubt. Laser etch on the flats, i can see by the pics it will be easier to get a good contrasting reflection, to see the number. Vs a cylinder shape where u only see a sliver of the number, I have to rotate back and forth 30yo usa craftsman 🇺🇸 cain't see it no more. Easier to turn by hand too. Design and manufacturing limitations early on, followed by generations of "If it ain't broke don't fix it etc"....100 yrs of square anvils going into round cylinders, and rolling under something heavy...brilliance 😀 😄 😉
