What an amazing human being! We will never forget
31 years later; the Lions finally get back to a winning season! And they can dedicate it Mike. Never give up!
I hope Mike reaches his goal of walking off Ford field. It awesome to hear the Detroit Lions organization and the Ford family helped him financially.
What an inspiration! And so nice to hear that the Lions have taken care of him financially for all these years.
Utley is a true treasure and a hero to have here in Detroit!
I don’t have a shred of doubt that Mike will do whatever he has to in order to walk again. Here’s to him reaching his goal. Thumbs up👍🏼
I'm calling B.S. on the, "if I had to do it all over again, I would" statement. What he really means to say is, 'if I could do it all over again but still have my legs while retaining lessons learned..." I'm paralyzed 8 years, so I know what I'm talk'n about. All of us would love to be fully functional.
Beautiful stuff and great perspective because we all deal with stuff every day. Mike's story continues to inspire and stand out with his great attitude to fight.
Mr. Utley, I really hope you do fulfill that promise to yourself. I remembered then…and I still remember now.
I wish I could be as strong as him in my fight with various things that have made my life hell. Definitely loved you sharing this Channel 4 and my goodness I hadn't seen Bernie in ages. Awesome to see him still doing sports!
I have all the respect for him.
your an inspiration mike! thanks for your strength, it makes us stronger.
Never forget where i was watching this when it happened. What a great guy
God bless you man
Mike is an inspiration from god above. His attitude is so Detroit... never stop grinding and never stop working. He is a hero in my play book. He’s the same man no doubt.
i was ten years old at the time and it was the first time i had ever seen a serious injury take place on the football field
Thumbs Up Mike, God Bless !
That 1991 Season makes me wish that the Lions won it all especially for Mike. That team was so good and tragically, it all ended in DC. I truly believe the Lions would have won it all had they won the NFC Championship.
Mike your my hero bar none..
An inspiration. Fantastic attitude.
The Greatest Mike !!! God Bless you !!! !!! !!! !!! !!! !!! !!!
You're a real good man 👍God bless you and your family
it was the first play of the 4th quarter, Kramer (the QB) barks out a play. Utley gets up to the line of scrimminge. The ball is hiked. Kramer drops back and throws the ball. Rocker jumps up to block the pass, when Rocker's feet lands, he grabs Utley's shoulder pads and pulls him to the ground. (Dramatic Pause). Utley's head hits the unforgiving turf on the Silverdome and COMPLETELY Crushes C-567. Utley wont be able to walk for the next 25-30 years is paralzyed
It’s sucks but his outlook is 💯
Wow! 😭
Good mullet, great person. ❤
Anybody know where to see the full footage of the injury?
Jason Street brought me here
👍
I have nothing in common with Mike Utley.
Every dream I have I'm not in a wheelchair ♿ either
TOMORROW IT WOULD BE 32 YEARS NOVEMBER 17 2023 THUMBS UP MIKE👍🙏
Wow. I need to man up.
That guy clearly hit him on purpose, the ball was long gone and he karate chopped him
Thumbs Up.
You got people crying over bs and this man cant walk again!!!
My God what a Warrior
