I am 45 years old, I have the same problem, my right ear has not grown perfectly since birth, apparently the term is called microtia, my family is from a poor economic background, and I have accepted my condition with gratitude and joy, will not undergo surgery until the end of my life, I hope everyone like me can accept the situation happily, not sad, we just lose 1 ear but we can still hear with the other ear, can still see, can still smell, can still walk, there are many other good things that we can enjoy and be grateful for

I am 19 years old and my right ear is undevelop since birth, because of my curiosity i researched if there are other people who have same condition like me. I'm glad that I'm not the only one havinf this. I guess I will just accept this and enjoy life, don't care about how people see me or judge me. Many thoughts in my mind like having a ear transplant or like detachable ear. But it's costly, I'm from poor family. This not hinder me, i can still hear do things like other people can. I'm from Philippines btw 🇵🇭

I have microtia and Im getting the surgery done on Monday. Im kinda nervous tho 😅 Wish me luck! Edit: I've had the first part done! It went really well and the second part is going to be done next month! :D

No the surgery for this one is purely cosmetic but on the second surgery there is an option well for me where I can get a new eardrum

I've had this surgery Done , like everything there's pros and cons, I found this video actually beacuse I want to undo the survey, if I sit a certain way my ribs like slide into eachother because of the missing cartilage, I don't want it back but I want it out of the side of my fucking head, it's still sore7 years after if I lay on it for too long, my neck and shoulders are wrecked from the pulling and repositioning of the skin surrounding,

Vanessa Togia you don’t need to be scared I have microcia and have nutrishia have gone through 11 surgery’s and it helps a lot and the people there are nice and professional. Your also completely asleep and don’t feel any thing and you won’t wake up during surgeries that’s all fake. The recovery is probably the worst but it’s not terrible.

@@riekapotato I went through the surgery when I was ten yrs old!😯 its been almost ten yrs since then and I remember the first surgery like it was yesterday it was a long painful month for me. I had some kind of tube on my rib cage that the doctor later remove without anything to put me numb or asleep. That was the most painful thing Ive gone through but made it out alive😂😂 im not sure how things are today with the new technology but good luck with life. And never give up on yourself!! trust me ive been through some hard stuff at a young age especially at school

Hey i was born with microtia. I was bullied. I got a surgery to help me which I did. My parents took me to Seattle Children's Hospital. They have wonderful doctor's. Doctor C. I forget her how to spell her last name but it sounds like C. She is asian if you look her up on the site. She helped me with my little ear. I hope you take my info and help your brother 🙏. I always hope for kids that have microtia and other sicknesses to get better. Tell your brother things will get better 🙏

if you care about the appearance of chest, do not get this surgery, it is highly invasive and risky. Complications can be there for a lifetime.

It can be. In fact it's recommended to be done after the person has reached 10 years and his toracic cage has developed enough. In my case, they told me to have it done at 17, but since my economic situation is not good right now (i'm student), then It will have to wait.

Yes I’m 36 & had it done insurance paid for it after years of calling different doctors my doctor told me it’s not cosmetic it is constructive surgery being its a rare deformity they have to pay 💰 good luck ❤️ sometimes I forget I had the surgery & still hide my ears lol

no you don't , you don't wish to be bullied because may people who have it get bullied for it or they live their life hiding it away and afraid of judgement even after going through surgeries. I don't care if this ' was meant to be a joke' but thats extremely insensitive.
