Love this! So much of what he has shared aligns beautifully with what I've learned in recovery from drugs and alcohol. It's crazy to think The drugs and alcohol were the solution for me to get through life for so long and it brought me so far down onto my knees to a point of surrender to be open enough to see a different way of being which is what I was looking for from the very beginning. For him it was A simple conversation with a friend That made him question that inner voice For me was unbelievable pain and suffering that I did to myself people around me. No matter,, I am grateful for the journey now. 9 years sober.

I discovered "The Untethered Soul" 3 years ago and continue to reread it. I went further and purchased all of Michael Singer's audio discussions as well as the Sounds True "Living From a Place of Surrender" course when it was released. I repeat listen to all of it. I often feel like a cult of one, so it's a treat to hear Tami engage with Michael and drill down on the course and seek clarification for some of the teachings. As Michael points out here -- as well in the course -- these teachings don't bear instant fruit. It's a lifetime's endeavor. At the end of Session 8 of the Sounds True course he implores the listener to continue working with the material, to not treat it as a weekend course that you took and then move on to the next thing. The teachings aren't complicated, they're deep, and it takes constant concerted attention and awareness to cut through the thicket of a lifetime's conditioning and samskaras that have formed. I don't find any conflict in Michael's teachings to those offered by many of the other fine teachers on the Sounds True roster, but for me at least, jumping from one teacher to the next becomes a distraction to going deep. Michael's teachings can keep you busy enough for a LONG time. It's changed and is changing me. He's been a true gift. Thank you, Michael. Thank you, Tami.

Haha! love it Stephen, thanks for sharing. I've just discovered him and was feeling like a cult of one as well! Haha. Just such a great way to express it. I couldn't put the book down - stayed up until 4am.. Have booked into the course, and have bought as much as I can so far. LOL!!!!! AMAZING! I think it will be a lifetime's read. I must admit I've gone off to read/watch a healing yogi since, as there are so many references to these. Anyway, thanks for the share. Consider yourself in an online cult of two?? :)

That is very true and I love it. I love being present and in this moment. It really is all that counts. The problem here. Is I need a better solution? Because people will automatically take you for a ******* ride. Behind your back they will steal your ****. Surrendering, I understand isn't passive. But we need a narrative. To protect us against the fools who will try to embezzle, steal, manipulate and cajole us. I can be present all I want. And be decent. But it doesn't help. When people steal **** from you. As a result of your kindness and goodness.

The mind is like a computer normally for people the mind is always talking about what is wrong. When you are not listening to that negative voice in your mind you have let go of the past and are open to greater ideas and energy that you have lost in the first place due negative past experiences.

Nowadays, I reached a low point in my life, like depression but its more with awareness that deep down there is more to this life. I randomly come across this on youtube when i search surrendering, Amazing once she mentioned author of "the untethered soul" i laughed so hard and drove straight to the bookstore. This guy has helped me just recently. I'm in management and the amount of selfish people in management🤦‍♀️ I questioned weather I was in the right position with being on the spirtual journey. But I know this position for me for the amount of peace I get out of it and I enjoy giving and helping while in the position. But dealing with unconsciousness daily takes a toll on me. Sometimes I just want to run away and move to the Bush and be by myself. But then I come across micheal, start reading his book and I realise how much I let the unconsciousness stay within me. Instead it meant letting go of the story I told myself about his death... How it was unfair, how it shouldn't of happened..ect.. I know everyones journey is unique and i dont profess to know the answers. I can only say what helped me. My soul has found comfort in embracing my pain, then trusting that the universe can show me" beauty from ashes" and make my pain sacred by releasing my narrow vision of the facts surrounding his death. I've heard the question"How long does grief last? ....as long as Love does"! Your grief will ALWAYS be there, but it is a reminder of the love you share with your daughter, which is NOT dead, and neither is SHE! I now have a new story and it has made all the difference in my grief journey. I pray the universe blankets you in love and comfort. So glad you are here, learning like me...its baby steps, we just have to be patient and kind with ourselves ❤️‍🩹 If your interested...

How had the journey been this past year (may I ask?)? I have in the past five weeks had recognition of and releasing of limiting thoughts which became 50-year filters of my life experiences. Liberating and roller-coaster ride emotional chunking - highs and lows, relief and despair in the new void of presence. Almost overwhelm. How have you steadied your journey if you’ve had similar recognitions and despair (or how you would describe it for yourself)? I have leaned on and shared with 2 close friends. Prayed for assistance. Stayed in thoughtful, intentional action toward new goals. Journaled. Listened and re-listened to talks like this…thank you for sharing 😊 Blessings to you!

A beneficial thing to do could be to try to accept our sadness, grief, and humanity. I agree with Michael that we try to bypass our humanity at great personal peril. Beautiful conversation.

If I had one suggestion for the questioner is to see if you can be softer around the edges with this and a little less literal. I get the vibe that's she's very intelligent and used to using her mind to figure things out but that faculty tends to hurt rather than help in this endeavor. I say this as someone who is very thought oriented and grew up thinking I could solve everything with the mind...including the mind itself. I am addicted to thought and treating it as such has helped immensely. Anyone reading this far and in the same boat, my advice, chill out a little. Soften up on it. Relax into it. Let go of the desire to "solve the problem of self.". Michaels advice can even be used on all of those urges (addictions) to utilize thought and intellect. See what remains after you soften up. See the ever present intellect that's already there without your effort...it's me...it's you.

Michael Singer you're brilliant in spiritual matters! It's obvious that you have put a lot of your life into meditating, thinking, reflecting, working on the inner being and then have written books to impart your wisdom....hopefully, many interested humans will find that becoming very close with spirituality and themselves is the most important thing to do to make this world a better place.....making yourself a better person. I feel that this is THE MOST IMPORTANT part of my life, to work on myself so that I will be more conscious and awake, and then I will treat others, or whatever is going on in my life, with compassion, calm, and love. I'm very grateful that I have found you on youtube and have listened to many talks, and this one is particularly great. Many thanks....

Tami made the conversation so clear and deep, very insightful. It might sounds like ‘passive’ when Michael say letting go when being unfairly criticised but I understood in the end it’s not suppress it but let go of the ego first, then calmly interact with the environment. (Not act out or suppress your shadow)

I just completed the 8 episode course "Living from a Place of Surrender" last evening. And I am going to watch it again. I am so enjoying this surrender technology. It is so simple. I didn't say "easy", I said simple. I love leaning back and experiencing what there is to experience. Yesterday I fell headfirst in the shower. Saw stars. My first thought was that I would be spending time in the hospital. My second thought was Mickey saying "This will only happen a few times in your life, so use it to go to God!" And I did. It was immediately relaxing. Gave my next moments freedom as I surrendered. What a triumph. I did not go to the hospital, and I was able to experience that fear in surrender. Beautiful. Tami and Mickey I'm showing parts of this to my 13yr old daughter and she loves it; It's my delight to see that she gets it instantly. I've done tons of work, from est to Unity, many workshops..... and now this. I'm going to watch this series again, it is so rich. Mickey, you might recall we met when you were hosting Yogi Desai and I was visiting on legal business; you took me for a tour and told me your story. I know that the Universe was creating the time we had together for 13.8 billion years but why in the universe couldn't you have mentioned this surrender technology then? Damn man, I'd be enlightened by now!! (I know I know, we're not supposed to claim enlightenment, and believe me, I don't; I'm still several samskaras from that..) And yet what you did teach me that day about your accumulation of the Temple property, your service to your Lord and your morning prayer ritual, has been a great help to me many days; and a teaching I pass on to my clients and the people of my spiritual center I serve here in Michigan. Tami and Mickey I'm in your debt and forever grateful. Dear Reader, this interview between Tami and Mickey Singer is a nice appetizer. Enjoy the feast. Participate in the full course, I respectfullly suggest.

One of the best things I ever read was the process of how we can actually change. In situations where we are triggered you have the situation/person that triggers something in you and then your reaction. The place for change comes in that small space in time....(sometimes a second) between what they said or did and your reaction. This is where change occurs. This is achieved by remaining present so you are aware and can choose how and if you react as opposed to going into autopilot.
