Michael A. Singer has been a spiritual teacher for more than four decades and has written two books: the #1 New York Times bestseller The Untethered Soul and the New York Times bestseller The Surrender Experiment. He is also the creator of a leading-edge software package that transformed the medical practice management industry, and founding CEO of a billion-dollar public company whose achievements are archived in the Smithsonian Institution. While working on his doctorate in economics in 1971, Michael experienced a deep inner awakening and went into seclusion, focusing on yoga and meditation. In 1975, he founded the yoga and meditation center known as Temple of the Universe, where people have come together to practice and study ever since. In addition to his work as a spiritual teacher, Michael has made major contributions in the areas of business, education, health care, and environmental protection.
Sounds True was founded in 1985 by Tami Simon with a clear mission: to disseminate spiritual wisdom. Since starting out as a project with one woman and her tape recorder, we have grown into a multimedia publishing company with more than 80 employees, a library of more than 1500 titles featuring some of the leading teachers and visionaries of our time, and an ever-expanding family of customers from across the world. In more than three decades of growth, change, and evolution, Sounds True has maintained its focus on its overriding purpose, as summed up in our Mission Statement.

I've listened to the audio book of The Untethered Soul twice now - it's life-changing stuff. The most prominent part, for me, was learning to surrender to your fear, experience and notice it. Now when I have a painful feeling, I just let it pass through me rather than trying to distract myself from it or consciously trying not to think about it. It's crazy how easy it is to do this - almost like it's a function of the human spirit that's been lying there all this time but dormant. Knowledge is indeed power!

@@rhondapelletier2141 Hi Rhonda, this is the best way; - Next time a fearful/painful emotion comes up, let it do so without resisting, escaping or suppressing it. - Go to a quiet place to be alone. - Close your eyes and let the painful/fearful thought come up. - Affirmations work, like; "I want to think about this" or "I want to surrender to this pain". Your mind will be surprised by this. - It will feel like you're on a rollercoaster and you will truly feel the fear/pain for a short moment. You should know that it cannot harm you in the slightest. - 10 minutes afterwards, or even instantly, you will feel lighter and happier. A few more tips: - Treat this mechanism like a short type of meditation but practice every time you have this feelings come up. - If this feeling is strong, it will come up again, so you will need to repeat the process - the more you do this the less painful it will become until it's totally fizzled away. Basically, let yourself feel this pain and process it correctly and consistently face it head on. I hope this helps =)

Knowledge is power for the ego - you have to be able to discern the difference. The more knowledge the more the ego thinks it has the world and others beat - with the power of being more knowledgeable ...than others But it has nothing to do with your Soul connecting with your True Self As your Soul already knows what your ego could never understand

One POWERFUL way to handle those inner talks and noise, I use and teach people is to SAY TO YOURSELF: I AM SAFE. Our mind is like an overprotective mother, and when it feels "Danger" is coming, we can break that pattern by feeling and be aware that the threat is not real, is just our mind. Say to yourself: I AM SAFE. Best wishes, don't give up! March 8, 2021

This book changed my life as well. On the evening that I was reading a chapter about deciding about happiness no matter what, I decided to be happy no matter what. And the next day I lend a car to a friend who called me about 10min later and reported that he had an accident with my car. It was when I put the phone down that I realised what happened. It was a test that Michael was describing in a book when someone decides to be happy no matter what and I started laughing. :)

As her parents left and said goodbye she looked around the room wondering what to do. She stood up stretched out for arms and spun around 3 times saying "I'm so happy". She gave me the greatest gift ever that you create your own happiness in any moment you make the choice.

This is so true - I once unknowingly used this method to stop a panic attack in a plane. The captain saying, “Doors closed !” sparked it off. Nobody taught me...it just came to me. I began to say, “I am relaxed ! I am ok “ and I literally stopped it. I must have said it a hundred times, like a mantra. I managed to do it and my mind quit with it because I guess it thought, “Oh well. I can’t bother her like that anymore !” 😊😊😊 So, it works !

Michael Singer's work has been so helpful to me ... I just finished reading "The Surrender Experiment" (The Untethered Soul has been like my Bible for many years now) ... the only thing I wish that had been different in "The Surrender Experiment" was some recounting about how much his mind resisted what life was putting in front of him ... I feel like he just kind of passes over that, minimizes it a bit ... for me, that resistance is the hardest part of surrendering ...all the ways my mind convinces me I'm going to die if I surrender ... I've been at this long enough to know that the mind will say ANYTHING to avoid its own death, but it helps when I read that the same thing happens to those who are farther along the path. Either way ... so grateful.

I've understood that..being a listening ear to your mind helps it calm down. Mind is like a scared kid when it comes to surrendering, it just runs feeling scared, but if you take some time and listen it's story over and over again, it will feel heard and calm down eventually. Just learn to the words, no matter what they are, there's no real need to answer them, listening is enough. Good luck.

In the title AND in the description Sage Robbins, who has so many profound things to say in this conversation and is a spiritual teacher in her own right, is omitted WHY??? There are THREE people in this conversation.. Wonderful conversation Love the way Tony is becoming more spiritual in his teachings with amazing guests !!

Sounds True, thank you for this lively and spirited discussion with some great gems, including about avoiding meditation for fear of what we might find. I like to compare it to avoiding looking under the hood of a car when the engine is making noise because we fear finding it in need of repair. I encourage us all to look under the hood and listen to the messages in this video. Thank you, and best wishes for your journey!

India was looted for over 200 years to call it poor and yet you still have to go there to get more out of that country. Most of the knowledge is from India. It’s a humble country that will always be blessed no matter what. Love people from India who are in India 🇮🇳 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️❤️❤️❤️
