Sounds True

Sounds True

Sounds True was founded in 1985 by Tami Simon with a clear mission: to disseminate spiritual wisdom. Since starting out as a project with one woman and her tape recorder, we have grown into a multimedia publishing company with more than 110 employees, a library of more than 3,000 titles featuring some of the leading teachers and visionaries of our time, and an ever-expanding family of beloved customers from across the world. In more than three decades of growth, change, and evolution, Sounds True has maintained its focus on its overriding purpose, as summed up in our Mission Statement.

As soon as Tami asked “What does everybody really want? The truth is that everyone wants is to be comfortable. Unfortunately everyone is trying to use something external to manipulate or control to be comfortable. My opinion, @ 79 is that having listened to everything written and all the audio teachings by Michael Singer, people are trying to teach what has been taught by Buddhism and yogis for centuries. Michael talks about who is experiencing, who is the self that is observing, and how the mind and the heart distract the self from not having awareness distracted from consciousness itself, by the thoughts of the mind and feelings of the heart. Would you be satisfied with being happy when not being bothered or learn why you get bothered by external conditions that distract consciousness from the joy that is always available. Meditation is a technique to distract the mind from pulling the energy of the self/ consciousness away from itself. The truth is that we have stored past emotional experiences that need to be released, that is where our disturbances rise up from. We do not need to know where our emotions come from, we need to know how to release that energy that blocks our chakras. Cannot do it through the analytical mind. Michael Singer is much clearer and articulate about the relationship of consciousness, the mind, and the heart. To me, this is philosophical. My heart was closed, I was in pain for years. I learned to be aware of when energy was moving up to be released, and I was unconscious repressing and suppressing. ❤

HOLY COW!!! For years/decades I’ve been avoiding looking at myself in the mirror: I usually shave in the shower, wear my hair short for wash and go (no grooming necessary). I HATED myself for carrying forward the generational shame that was dumped on me; for the lack of positive self identity I was unable to develop because I had to stay in compliance with narcissistic, scapegoating parents. “If I don’t know me I can hate myself” Scapegoats don’t get to hate their parents, so they hate themselves.

Just was thinking of your were a newborn baby and he asked what would you be feeling well the main answer would be you wouldn't know because well at least my first memory wasn't till around 5 years old and it's disjointed because I can only remember odd glimpses not a continuous just like quick snippets of say skipping in playground , or occasional classroom experiences so as a baby if I did know something I don't remember it's a real deep chat I really enjoy it very thought provoking your right what foes say there os a beginning and ending only the body being there and then not 😮

I just love Rupert. I dont understand why Tami was being a bit difficult with the baby thing? He said imagine a birth being easy etc. Going to an experience before thoughts etc. She didnt even try and was kind if rude imo!

Very edgy stuff indeed. Part of me is open to the information presented here, and another part of me is like, "this lady is bonkers". But all the info is presented in a way without grandstanding or trying to convince anyone, it sounds more like an honest explanation of experiences had..

Many times work don't flow, or you don't flow with work, and you are in anxiety looking for a way you can give service and also be in peace. I've been really stressed working, and also with anxiety when work finished (used to work in projects with a start and an end). Still looking for that answer and balance, as when you don't work you feel really guilty... and that's not the way neither. You work in life. But life is not work. ❤ Sharing my perception & experience.

It almost makes me feel more hopeless listening to this, since I'll never have the support to actually heal or write a book. When a disabled autistic person is unable to work or maintain benefits due to fraud, retaliation, all kinds of illegal systemic BS, then they are subjected to a lifetime of ongoing abuse they cannot escape. Maslow was right about those basic needs needing to be met before we can tend to deeper layers.
