i could watch videos of michael owen scoring goals all day... anyone feel the same? so many different finishes too... he was just a natural!

The finish v Barcelona was amazing.....it was like the goalkeeper started to set himself but Owen just pulled the trigger and left him in no man's land.

Real Madrid had Ronaldo and Raul in front..and Guti who an was Attacking centre mid but could also play Forward (seen few games where he did) so Owen was always 3rd choice striker

He was rated perfectly because when Real's president were asked by Owen about the possibility of signing Gerrard he said "but why do we need him.... We have Guti who is so much better" & I totally agree.... Guti could change the outcome of any game with any type of pass & his tackling was perfectly timed & he scored his fair share of goals too!

If it wasn't for his constant muscle injuries, Owen could have been so much bigger at Madrid. His Liverpool days were phenomenal and he retained his lethal finishing ability despite playing on basically one leg. Much respect.

Never had a chance to establish himself with Raul and Ronaldo there. Was Owen in the same class? Yes. But did he have the name and personality to be seen as a galactico? No. He made the right call to go. It was Real Madrid. A new experience. Just had terrible injuries at that period and after.

Should've stayed at Liverpool and won the Champions League. He'd be a legend along with Gerrard and Carragher as local boys who came thru the Academy. He's an official Liverpool ambassador but the fans held a petition to get rid of him. He's got a Premier League medal with Man Utd so he's probably not bothered.

Quickest striker I've ever seen, deadly in the penalty box. Hardy ever missed a chance. On a level with the great Romario. Let's not forget he scored a hat-trick against Germany in Germany in a WC qualifier. Few people (anyone?) can claim the same. Shame his career was plagued by injuries.

He actually was not shabby in RM. During the instances where he played, he was really quick, sharp, and managed to finish his chances. While Owen was not one of Real's best ever signings in any way, he was certainly not the worst as well!

Was a fab player . Did amazing considering they only put him in the starting 11 at the end of the season . Under valued at Madrid and the medical staff were idiots. Should not have rushed him back from injury . He was a great finisher and it is sad how his career has gone .

Hafiz Halim Woodgate could have been superb though, it was only injury after injury that stopped him being as good as Rio Ferdinand for club and country.

Michael Owens, and like David Beckham, they were great players until some lowlife players slide tackled to break their feet and that was the beginning of an end. You can heal the injury but never be the same like before.

They didn’t ever freakin play him that much. But, every time time they subbed him on he scored. He kinda had an unfortunate career.
