Michael Monroe heißt mit bürgerlichem Namen Matti Antero Kristian Fagerholm und ist der ehemalige Sänger der legendären Glam Rock-Band Hanoi Rocks, die mit ihrem Sound und ihrem Look den Stil des US-Hard Rock der achtziger Jahre entscheidend prägten. Guns N'Roses, Mötley Crüe und viele andere US-Bands waren frühe Fans von Monroe und Co.
Zu den Markenzeichen von Michael Monroe gehören seine blondierten, oft hochtoupierten Haare, jede Menge Make-up und glamourös-punkige Outfits mit knallengen, bunten Hosen. Nach dem endgültigen Ende seiner Band Hanoi Rocks verkündete Monroe 2010, dass er eine neue Band unter seinem Namen in den Startlöchern habe.
Seither ist Monroe mit seinen Jungs ständig auf Tour, u.a. spielten sie als Support für Motörhead und standen gemeinsam mit Slash auf der Bühne. Das Debütalbum "Sensory Overdrive" gewann den Preis für das Album des Jahres bei der Preisverleihung des Classic Rock-Magazins im Jahr 2011. Dessen Nachfolger "Horns & Halos" ging direkt auf Platz 1 der finnischen Charts.

I was there! And just saw myself in the front row, lol. He was great, full of energy, put on quite the show. Which was great, because after the first two festival days had lovely weather, it got cold on the evening of the third. I really needed a show like this that would make me move and keep me warm.
