I got to meet Mr Monroe at a record release part in 1989. That's one tall, good looking Finnish man. It was like looking at a Viking dressed like a Glam/ Punk guy. He was very kind and likeable. He signed posters, but he wanted to write what he us wanted, to speed up (his English was shaky). He saw my suggestion: "To a young man who loves to party and makes a mean tuna sandwich", and started laughing, and said in his accent "OK, we have a comedian in our midst!" Such a cool guy. I loved this album, as it was like GnR meets the Sex Pistols in an alley, with a dose of IV Heroin!

I agree with you--definitely underrated. I'm inclined to add that Michael Monroe and Hanoi Rocks were also among the most underrated musicians of all time.

This reminds me of the good old days when I was 19 in 1989. Late 1980s GOLD AGE.

I taped this off of MTV and watched it so many damn times, that part of the tape eventually wore out. Bad Ass Rock n roll folks!

This reminds me of Headbangers Ball on MTV back in the day!

I saw Michael Monroe perform at the Grand(no longer around) in the early 1990s--about 1992. I was right in front of him during his entire performance. Michael was like magic--so full of energy and raw soul that grabbed me musically. To this day, his concert is among the best I've ever attended--not because of where I was positioned, but because of his performance.

One of the best shows I've seen! Michael Monroe and HCSS in Ludwigsburg, Germany. Thank you so much :-)

seeing this as kid all those years ago on mtv having Axl pop in cameo whilst GnR being hugely popular was awesome. cuz there was no internet websites jewtube etc...just the albums and mtv.

they were a killer band !! michael is doing some awesome acoustic, and looping stuff now. highly reccommend his new stuff, its great...

Well, Michael used hired guns for his recordings. Phil Grande, Nasty Suicide and Jimmy Ripp are all listed as "guitar" on the CD. I believe this is Jimmy Ripp in the video. I've seen Jimmy with Mick Jagger and he looks like Jagger's guitar player.

Who forgot it? Not me. I still listen to Michael and I'm an American. Was lucky enough to visit my friend in Turku and see him live in a near by town a few years s back. I also listen to Negative and Jonne Aaron's solo stuff even though I don't speak Finnish. I listen to Lovex and a couple other Finnish bands. I'm hoping for a Negative come back someday. I've never seen them live. Jonne's new song Olettamuksia and in English Dance with Danger are great. Some of us Americans are paying attention and have not forgotten Michael.
