Ever since Michael Bay mentioned last year that the movie will be shooting in 3D with the 3D camera crew of Avatar, I became totally fascinated by the whole process. This video really puts an even better insight on it. I always thought that shooting with 3D cameras was just as simple as shooting it and then you're done but what they say totally addresses that and helps the audience understand that no matter if it is shot with 3D cameras or post converted, it is still a complicated process

I used to hate Michael Bay. But I got smarter thatn that. He's genuinely in love with filmmaking. Look at his enthusiasm when he talks the technical stuff. He puts a lot of effort into what he does. That alone deserves some respect. He is, I think, one of the best directors in terms of production. Storytelling and some decisions in visual style are subject to criticism, as well as stories themselves and direction of acting, but damn do his movies look solid.

Hopefully, future directors really use it to its fullest potential. Similarly, hopefully the studios in their quest to make a buck give creators time to do the 3D right, conversion or not. Difference between a good director and a great one: that last answer. Bay made it all about himself and the new toy that he gets to use. Cameron says it's about the audience and how their visual experience is enhanced wit the use of 3D cameras. Great directors are always more concerned for their audience than they are for themselves. Bay's still good though.

I like 3D only if it's used correctly, sometimes 3D now a day's is being used as a gimmick, just so people can waste more money, very few director's know how to use 3D, such as James Cameron, Robert Zemeckis, and most recently, the director's from the old day's that are completely unfamiliar with 3D use it perfectly, such as Steven Spielberg for Tintin, and Martin Scorsese for his masterpiece "Hugo", Micheal Bay uses 3D fairly good, so does Dreamworks Animation. more directors should do the same

Plus I said if you're going to use CGI, at least a damn story behind it. Note I didn't bash Terminator 2, that has CGI yet the story of the film was pretty incredible. If you have a good story, shows work was done in the film.

Simple: I love film and was browsing videos about it. I clicked on this one only because I wanted to see if they gave reasons for using 3D, because I have never liked it, nor have I understood why so many choose to film in it. People can watch videos without necessarily liking the subject.

@@Avarcirith alright, but speaking of 3D and shit! Watching movie in 3D is like having sex with two or more girls. You should try that 😎☕️👌🏻

@@kayzee3595 Haha um okay? I am a girl, FYI. Also, I've watched tons of movies in 3D-- never ended up liking it. To me, it's just a gimmick that gets in the way of the actual movie. But to each their own. I'll take my non-3D and sex with just my boyfriend, and you can have your 3D and sex with two or more girls. A good time means different things to different people.

Because the truth of the matter is that regardless of what online sources (articles, reviews, videos etc.) may have you believe, the world of movie fandom doesn't hate Michael Bay with determination. If that's the impression you have, then you probably spend too much time on the internet. Like T.V., it's not real life!

Michael Bay remains as one of the most visually-talented directors there is. the problem with his movies isn't explosions or action - the problem with his movies is the fact that Michael Bay clearly has the sense of humor of a 4th Grade dullard. i wouldn't be complaining about his movies if they didn't have pissing and farting robots who can't read.

Agree. Generally speaking, these silly blockbusters are a waste of creative resources. I'm sure that the directors, cinematographers, special effects teams etc that are involved in making these films could do so much better, but at the end of the day it's all about the product.

The blockbusters that these two created do not exist anymore. They made hundred of millions on movies that were not attached to an IP. That is unheard of today.

I'm sure there are other directors out there who can do exactly what Bay did for Transformers, thing is I'm sure it's not their style too, movies like Transformers are high in demand so some sad reason.
