The problem is that EVERY single female character in his films are like that; which gives away the idea that we thinks women are like that. There is nothing wrong with a stereotypical character existing, the problem is when every single one of your characters fits the exact stereotype, because that gives away the idea that you believe all people of that group act like that. Literally every writer knows that, even the amateur ones.

I used to hate Michael Bay's movies too, but lately I'm starting to think that maybe he's not such a bad director. Pain & Gain, 13 Hours and The Rock are just good movies and Transformers and Bad Boys are excellent popcorn movies. And I'm soberly looking forward to his new film, Ambulance. Not every movie has to be art, and it's okay to have a director like him. Sometimes people want a popcorn movie. That's why there are still various horror movies hitting the market every year.

Honorable mention: The colorgrading/lighting and color saturation. In every MB movie there's always orange sunset light on every scene that's not a night scene. In the night scenes everything is bluish.

I know that his Bayformer films are lacking, but I'll be damned if the character models aren't good. I know that the G1 transformers have a charm to them and are nostalgic, but the Bayformer models are so real in terms of placement of parts.

I hate that despite it being an action movie, there's always half-assed, unnecessary love story crammed into the movie. :/ In that regardAge of Extinction is the worst.

What ultimately makes Bay so frustrating is that he doesn't respect his audience, so he panders to them with lame action sequences, unfunny jokes, and idiotic plots that are absolutely riddled with holes. He assumes the people watching are idiots who will watch any stupid movie with explosions in it -- and the MOST mind blowing thing is that HE'S RIGHT. I don't blame him so much as I do the people who put up with his films and continually fork over hard earned cash to support his awful, idiotic, and often times sexist and racist films. He puts out pure garbage, and saddest of all is that he knows garbage is exactly what the mainstream craves. People will always play Call of Duty. People will always listen to Justin Bieber. Yup, that's hipster. "bwaah, I don't like it, so everyone is supposed to not like it". It actually feels like a millenial pseudo-intelectual/cultural entitlement. And worst than that, it's hopping on the hate wagon without any self thinking. The cool kids don't like it, so I don't like it.

Michael Bay is an example of talented people not genuinely using or expanding their talent for the better results.

Doesn't change they suck, all of them. Most of the shit they listed here is not a problem, the only things that count are his action scenes suck by any metric and his jokes the same. He's an unfunny quack who probably laughs at fireworks go boom in his backyard and if he goes to a circus pays more attention to the clowns than the acrobats. Basically all the movies he made could be remade nearly exactly the same but better by an actual director.

The narrator seems to be taking offense to everything Michael Bay has ever done.

As much as I love the first Bad Boys movie, I kinda agree that it could've used a bit more character development or maybe flesh out our lead characters a little bit. I mean Marcus Burnette is basically just a cartoony version of Roger Murtaugh from Lethal Weapon, while Mike Lowrey is pretty much Ray Tango from Tango & Cash. Also all the characters feel more like caricatures of characters. Will Smith is the typical handsome and charismatic action hero, while Martin Lawrence is the token comic relief sidekick and the bad guy is basically every other Saturday morning cartoon villain with bumbling henchmen who have stormtrooper aim. Despite all that Bad Boys is still my favorite Michael Bay movie.

Good: The Rock, The Island Mediocre: Transformers 1, Con Air Bad: Transformers 2-3, Pain and Gain Holy Fuck WTF my brain is bleeding: Transformers 4, Ninja Turtles

Again without MB I wouldnt know anything about Transformers so many other people. I would have never seen the original series or movies,I would have never played with my friends with some toys,never played the games (that we probably would have never seen),I would have never watched transformers prime that we also would have never seen if MB wasnt there. Because of this movies I could have so much fun with games,series and toys. And not only I many other people had became great fans of Transformers. Sorry for posibly bad spelling.

Well I still must admit that I don't quite get the haters, I believe it boils to probably being a case of him making movies that are more appealing to the global consumers, so he depicts a far more idealised image of the US and its society than what you really see when your actually American, although he isn't the only one to do it, so I still don't quite get the hate.

About inappropiate things, women aren't only sexualized objects. There were scenes where dog was humping a dog or little decepticon was humping a human leg.

He is one of the most successful directors of all time financially. People love those damn movies. Only people madd at him are middle aged adults who need to grow up. And he didn’t direct TMNT or write it.

I agree with everything except the part in Armageddon where Harry "hands over" his daughter. I think that was just his way of finally giving his blessing to their relationship. Grace wasn't portrayed as stupid or weak, after all, it was she who was responsible for handling the clients while speaking Mandarin, a language that is possibly the most difficult to master outside of American English. Also, she handed Harry's ass to him several times throughout the film, even mentioning how she pretty much raised herself and him when she was a child after her mom passed away. She wasn't on the space shuttle/asteroid with them, but she wasn't powerless.

3 and 4 were good in my opinion, i liked transformers 2 only because of Devastator, and 1 and 5 I disliked, i like the bayverse but...i really wish it was better than what it is now, 4 was fine and could’ve been the last film in the bayverse...and i really wish Hasbro took another director for TLK So I could’ve seen unicron...but nope it was bad...and I am looking forward to the Knightverse...thanks to the Optimus prime design in the film and the return of the bayverse bumblebee in a more better version...

Watching bad boys is like eating grape nuts with razor blades in it. Sure it has flavor, but you're slowly dying inside after.

Watchmojo and probably critics will say it's bad because it's repetitive and cliché, not because it's actually bad. Reusing a resource makes it obvious and predictable so every movie you watch from him becomes less interesting and produces a smaller impact on you

The best thing about Michael Bay movies are that they are rated R movies for children. Not literally all of them, but they are steps for children becoming adults in some weird and funny way

I actually like Michael Bay movies. He delivers on what I want when I go to see a film he directs. Loads of action, explosions and even fan-service thrown in for good measure. I don't go and see a Michael Bay movie for subtlety, nuance or deep philosophical themes. That's like showing up to KFC and complaining that there are no waiters to hand you a menu and serve you an appetizer. That's just not what Michael Bay serves up. If you don't like his movies then fine. There are literally millions of people including myself who do.
