I think I'm with Jason on this one, it feels very busy to me. But, I know plenty of other people who might like it. That being said, I agree with Bobby that collaboration pieces should feel different than the normal Wyrmwood product. Plus, you can make them a limited supply item

I like the corrupted logo, chuck it on there, also “last time we had a pizza party Doug stepped down as CEO” had me rolling

I don't understand why Wyrmwood doesnt just treat collabs like they do in fashion. Just call it part of the Wyrmwood x Alm Fab / Michael Alm line and you're good to go. The quality of the product is made with Wyrmwood standards, but the design can be as flexible as any designer they get.

Michael's designs are absolutely beautiful on a single panel, but imagine looking at a 4 panel GM screen wall of that pattern - to me it would be disorienting. I'd love to see the veneer version because I think it would break up the pattern and be less overwhelming.

I think these would be amazing on the display panel, but I agree it would be too much for a 3 or 4 panel set up imo

I am SO team Jason. I think he is right about all this stuff with design, brand, and approach. Love the Wyrmwood folks as I have been supporting them since they were at Gen Con with a small table covered by a "non-magnetic cloth" and a paper sign behind them. I got you Jason - keep fighting the good fight.

I love all the third party stuff, it looks great but I agree: a brand shouldn't dilute itself for just more marketing reach and sales. That seems dishonest for a company selling The Craftsman Promise. Im totally down for collabs but they should come from a point of artistry, not just marketing

I love love love that you keep adding "Balding" as Doug's 'title'. It really gives me a chuckle.

ABSOLUTELY HEARTBROKEN that you're not continuing with the Class Based Dice Vaults. I'd been waiting for my class and just heard from your CS people, that you've discontinued them 🥺. Although we are very excited to get our table soon, and we're on the list for the GM shield, this was still was tough to hear. I'm new to this world and it brings my husband so much joy to have me a part of it, but now I won't get to have access to my class vault. Really bummed...😭

That pattern that looks like dragon scale stained and veneered onto the right type of wood to represent different colored dragons would be amazing! How about a Dragon series of panels to go along with the character class choices.

I agree with Jason, it's not really Wyrmwood design. But maybe there should be a third branch of Wyrmwood. You have your heirloom quality, your MGT products, and maybe a Xxxx by Wyrmwood line of limited run expensive designs. Similar to larger clothing companies.

Yeah maybe the Corrupted line is the line where Wyrmwood collaborates with other Social media woodworking influencers to make new products. Maybe even make the logo a combination of the Wyrmwood and influencer logo. Make the combination logo like the influencer corrupting Wyrmwood.

I'm with Jason on the look/feel of the patterned plywood not matching the Wyrmwood aesthetic, but I also feel like Bobby's argument about it being a collaboration is valid. But damn the amount of labour for each panel is insane. Even for veneer panels it's gonna be expensive!

The fact that there were 4e books thrown on the table behind the GM screen got my upvote right there.

I love the patterned plywood the most. The geometry of the patterns is so great. I don't think I could afford it. The veneer looks really great too and I could see myself paying for that.

Your "money" is honestly where it should be. Fairly paid well treated staff and quality product with honest business practices.

There's no harm in stretching your aesthetic a little as long as you still have the core Wyrmwood vibe available. You're only broadening your customer base to those that might want a little more variety than the basic style.

yalls kickstarter videos are always 10s. like i have no money and im thinking about getting a screen based on how good that video made it look. mmm its so nice. really the entire media team is worth their weight in gold

I do like the colors and the wood, but am a bit turned off by the cabinetry looking relief in the back of them. Having a flat board or something with a bit of a pattern on it might look better to me. But all in all I do love the initiative you guys are putting in!

solid wood with a patterned plywood veneer would be a good compromise of cost vs style. Solid wood without the extra cutting and sanding needed would be really cheap to make too, especially as you could use cheaper woods. Even if you wanted expensive wood for the border, you could always veneer that, or glue strips of the expensive wood around the core of the cheap wood (if that's practical, don't ask me I'm not a woodworker!).

I love this whole GM Screen series. Seeing the whole process from R&D to production has been an eye opener. I love seeing the buisness side of Wyrmwood. Keep up the good work

I really like it. Natural woodgrain is fine, but I dig this for it's uniqueness.

If I was spending the money on a Dm screen I’d definitely look at the pattern ply. I know it’s not “wormwood’s” style but it looks fun and I realize to some it looks too busy but I love that about the patterns. If no pattern ply I’d probably go purple heart

I absolutely loved the patterned plywood that had the black veneer around all the pieces so it looked like scales!

Although I do agree with Jason that it's not very Wyrmwood's style I think it's fine as a Collab. so many brands out there have these item's that look way different from their normal stuff in their catalog because they featured an artist/celeb. The whole point is for them to look different to have the featured person's look to it, it's a look at my cool weird collectors edition DM screen because I love Michael Alm. if it would look just like a Wyrmwood product than what's the point of bringing Michael Alm on

I genuinely like and appreciate a lot of what Bobby brings to the team, his creativity, character, leading the media team, energy etc. However, "who cares as long as we make money..." Well ya certainly hit provocative Wyrmlife content there lol. I think a lot of folks appreciate Wyrmwood for the style look and feel of your products, and that you don't "sell out" just for money 😉...in this case I think the pattern plywood is a cool collab! Those patterns looks to me like a dwarf aesthetic, and I think it is amazing. Maybe would be better in a collection focused in races instead of classes. (Greetings from Brazil!)

There's a part of me that is stupid happy that the GM screen features Eberron stuff. I'm even planning a Q'barra campaign to launch when my screen finishes :)

I know this is a bit off topic, but after seeing you guys expand into different projects, I am keeping my fingers crossed for a quality Wyrmwood Chess Set somewhere down the road. I think it has so much potential and would absolutely sell well, especially with all of the different luxury woods in the company's catalog.

I love how there is talk of the Wyrmwood aesthetic when it comes to the look of the patterned plywood... but despite that they went balls to the wall with a literal "kitchen cabinet" aesthetic for the final design. I love the overall function of the screens (chef's kiss) but that front side with the routed rectangle is absolutely not on brand (8 time Kickstarter with WW). If I get this I will (guaranteed) find a way to cover each of the front parts of those panels.

The use of plywood as a building material is great, as a woodworking material is maybe underrated? If this wasn't put together with sheets of plywood designed for construction, say if a woodworker took sheets of varying hardwoods to make a very high end plywood and did this same thing, I would expect it to be more respected.

Bobby said in the first update to the kickstarter that you can just back for accessories. So if you want just the tower you can get it (starts $125)

I would probably get the 7:31 dragon-scale design if it's a veneer on Wenge. I think the way to go would be to drop the middle split where it goes both up and down, and have it be only down so it resembles dragon-scale even more.

People often don't realize this plywood is really strong! I used to work at a plywood factory in Vermont that no longer exists. They made the cores to Burton snowboards out of maple plywood.

ya cause the glue is stronger than the wood. like doug said in an early season of wyrmlife, a properly done glue joint is stronger than the wood itself. the wood will split before that glue joint will give. I'm pretty sure it was an episode of a con, when a super fancy personal tray got demolished by TSA

Art deco veneer on black wood would be sick!

As someone said below the dragon scales one with different colors (chromatic and metallic options) would be pretty sweet. Match the colors with a certain wood and it would look slick for a DM screen.

By far the black veneer dragon scales is my favorite.

Jason’s right, it’s not the Wyrmwood aesthetic. Bobby is also right, collaborations should be exceptions. The Dispel vaults also looked different than Wyrmwood’s normal aesthetic, don’t be afraid of trying new stuff.

Has there been any progress on the carrying case for the GM Screens? Is that going to be available for the Kickstarter or is that coming later?

If the go the veneer route. They just have to make a bunch of 12in blocks and then run them through the veneering machine.

I agree with Jason when it comes to not watering down your brand. If the brand gets used for too many quality standards, it starts to be meaningless. Say Lamborghini made a line of super cheap cars, they're not gonna call 'em Lamborghini. People would go: "oh I own a Lambo" and you'd no longer know, does he have the super expensive one or just the cheap stuff. If you insist on slapping the Wyrmwood logo on everything, at least expand on the Signature Series, so you still have an easily recognisable high quality line.

Collaborations are common. I'm not sure why people are getting butt-hurt about branding (both can be represented). It's a matter of taste in the end as to who does or doesn't like the pattern. This is a kickstarter also; which means pre-sales essentially.

Can the plywood be stained? Or at least stained well? Because I'm imagining the dragon scale one as a veneer stained to match the standard 6 chromatic dragons. I'm not sure how you could do the metallics or gem dragons though.

Ok crazy question - can you make plywood out of the Wyrmwood woods veneers, and then make patterned plywood veneers from that. A wenge/paduk plywood pattern could look so sick

the glue up will take forever and these will be so expensive you may as well by a solid wood screen with extra attachments or an extra panel or two.

novitiate + master sounds good... they should extend it to all the 'class' combos though; purple-heart isn't everyone's cup of tea. limited run get it while they last: probably wouldn't work with how they are managing the KS, they just have a single pledge option & then you decide what you want post-pledge in the backerkit. Which frankly is generally a BETTER way to go, both for them & for us (because screw many multiple options with KS's crappy UI). It does pretty much preclude an early backer option at this point though... given the KS has been live for 12 hours-ish.

what about veener the paterned plywood planks so the pattern is inside the groove?
