Was working in NYC and taking the train. Some lady was playing shitty music from her cell phone and a guy a few seats asked her politely to turn it down. She cussed at him. He said " very well. Ve are at var." And produced some old magnavox headphone jack portable speakers from his back pack, plugged in his phone, and said " dis iz baby crying 1hr from youtube." She lasted 35 seconds before screaming ok ok ok and cussing and turned her music off. Not even mad.

@@blitzninja4396 based on the OP and all of it's upvotes, that's clearly not the case. your ability to care about anyone else but yourself gets sucked out of you the more shit you have to deal with on a day to day basis. it's not that their life is more important/better, it's just they fill it up with whatever they want/need to and disregard everything else as a result. there is always a trade off, i would pick the one where people are happier overall and have time to care for others because that produces results much faster then being selfish.

I remember I was in Japan, doing 2 parttime jobs, sometimes on the same day. And I had to get a train to commute between them, because they were 1h apart and that was exactly the commuting time. And my only option for lunch was in that train. I had to try my best to hide while eating some sandwich, and feeling dirty and shameful. Also instead I decided to go to the toilet at work, which is disgusting enough, and eat as fast as possible in 5 mins. Ended up just skipping lunch those days, finishing late with almost no energy at all 😮‍💨
