Top notch the quality and the frame rates are impresive stable. Clearly if us as community we devolp ourself and share Gnu/Linux knowledge more in our social medias we could show the world we have an competitor of Windows and even better. Tweaks on Pc are the quirks of intelligence human who whants to know and expand his knowledge ☺😇. Great video👏🔥💯👍.

I was just playing this game, a little past this area, but on 6800XT with native client. It really looks the same from the video so I'm not going to install the PC Special Edition to see if it possibly looks any different (because it's huge!). Awesome video, enjoy the game (if you have time).

I used saves from my native game. There isnt too much difference indeed. Some quality of life things and a bit better lighting. FoV slider that doesnt break on screen effects and binoculars. But yeah. Native is pretty good also.

The game keeps crashing after the intro movie. Playing it in safe mode works for a bit, but that also crashes during the game. I tried your launch options and proton-ge-custom. My rig has an RTX card, running Garuda. Do you have any advice?

What version of drivers you have and the GPU? ..iirc some 535 drivers had issues on Turing RTX cards. With Xid109 errors in dmesg. Not sure if its still a case though. The game works great these days with proton-experimental and with just PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1. im on RTX 3080 and 550.40.07 drivers atm and it still seems to work with no issues for me.

@@xpander69 I'll check the version, it's one that was installed by the OS, so I have no idea what exactly it is, and thanks for the reply.

I can get this game running sometimes but I receive a warning when I enter that I don’t have dxr1.1. Apparently vkd3d-proton has dxr1.1 support so I downloaded the repo and ran the install script. I still get the warning. Do you have any recommendations? It also doesn’t give me that Nvidia option despite the fact I’m running an EVGA GeForce RTX 3080. I’m a bit new to Linux any help is appreciated.

Try with latest proton experimental and use the VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11 you also might need to enable NVAPI like described in the description. Is your game not on steam? then the options might be a bit different.

@@xpander69 Thank you so much for your reply. It is on steam, in fact. I’m a bit confused on where to input this information: Would the line “PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11” (or without the NVAPI enablement) go into “launch options” of the game properties on Steam?

@@malcolminthemetal4992 You should check protondb first when you encounter an error, there is usually fix listed if the game is playable. For example for this game there's a comment that tells you that using "VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_2 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11" will fix that error, which it does.
