In one hand its just like every other open world game we have had over the years, with busywork on random sidemissions, eliminating camps etc, very consolified UIs and stuff also, but somehow the whole environment and the interesting personalities carry this game. It also makes no sense to drive with a bike that is that noisy in a zombie world, but yeah i like the game a lot also. To me its like RDR 2, but with better setting for my taste :)

@@xpander69 Hehe you're probably right about the bike noise. The devs at Bend are all big petrol heads though, they took a lot of inspiration from where they live. Yeah, I love the characters, the atmosphere, clearing a horde can be stressful early in the game but fun by the time you're fully kitted out.

I got this game soon after it came out on steam. It worked flawlessly for me on Proton. I really liked it, though it had a really weird weapon line-up. For example a 1930's Tommy gun was way more powerful than an AR-15 and AK-47 and the M-14 had a fire rate of one shot per second.

I never really paid too much attention to the weapon selection. Used crossbow for the most of the game pretty much before i discovered that sniper rifle and didnt care about stealth anymore :)

Days Gone vs Dying Light vs 7 Days to Die?

Allthough all have zombies, thats where the similarities pretty much end. Dying Light: More urban setting except the DLC. Quite shallow Storyline with not so impressive personalities/voiceacting. Focus on melee Gameplay and simple crafting. 7 Days to Die: Not much story, more focused on survival aspects, in depth building, crafting etc Days Gone: Story rich, Open world zombie game. With very simple crafting system. So each their own. I guess.I personally don't like Dying Light much as its very shallow game to me, the story and personalities were so boring and the rest of the gameplay really didn't hook me that much.. 7 Days to Die is pretty amazing, pure sandbox, but combat is kinda janky but servicable.

hmm. I dont remember any stuttering tbh. Shader related? Way back when DXVK didn't have graphics pipeline library support, there were heavy stutters in the beginning of the game, but thats not been an issue about 2 years now i think.. If your drivers and proton versions are not super old, then you shouldnt have any stuttering.

@@Scy1hee Ahh ok. That might explain then yeah. Good to know. Haven't personally used HDDs for gaming for years at this point.
