My wife died in my arms three weeks ago at the age of 28. It was a sudden medical event out of the blue and despite my desperate attempts, I couldn't save her. Needless to say, it destroyed me. For the first three days I was completely inconsolable. After a week I started to function again and I turn on the radio for the first time since she died. This is the song that started playing right from the very beginning. It was like hearing it for the very first time. I don't know what my future will be like, but what I do know is that until the day I die I'll always remember her when I hear this song.

Metallica, but more specifically this song has a much deeper meaning to me. I’m only 19, so I wasn’t around back in the golden age of music, but I’d listen to Metallica in the car with my dad all the time. Brings back good memories.

I have been to this ampitheater and could not believe my ears when the tour guide told us metallica played here. This is epic, this is a world historical site. One of the oldest known amphitheaters on the planet. Wish i could have been at this amazing concert 🧡🤙🤙👊

This to me is one of the most powerful songs i have ever heard - i love this band and always will - i don't care what you think of the band - the lyrics and music say it all :-) I've seen them live in their early career I would love to see them live again now :-)

28 years ago they were the shit with Slayer and Megadeth. No matter what is said, if youre around my generation Metallica has special place just like people of the seventies said about Black Sabbath. Embedded in the history of our youth at that time. Still going strong. I have progressed far beyond just groove thrash metal or whatever the fuck it is labeled today. But this music has a special place in recent history to the metal universe and mainstream music.
