@Joe dirty71 In all seriousness , your smugness is off-putting & not humorous. These guys aren't diehard metal fans. They clearly like Metallica, who I would absolutely agree has slowed down with age as people do. Additionally, the tenor of their albums have changed over the last 20 years, which would necessarily change their live shows just as a new tour would focus on an album we haven't heard. Yet you speak with such confidence. I don't think you're capable of taking people's differences into account. I would never recommend a Slipknot show to a non-metal fan as their first show. The energy is too manic. It's obvious you won't reflect on yourself but for anyone reading this comment, don't take music advice from this guy. He isn't interested in your enjoyment of music but the correctness of his opinion.

The song seems a homage to metal as a whole. They're totally wearing their influences on their sleeves here. There are musical references all over the place in the riffs. Motorhead, Misfits, Judas Priest, just tons of familiar riffs. So it's a celebration of metal and how it will live forever, or lux aeterna. On top of that, they include the crowd as part of the life of the music so it's definitely intended to be played live.

When I first heard this tune the other night I was kinda torn, as far as my initial impression. Now a couple days have gone by and I have found myself repeatedly going back to listen to it, over and over. The chorus where James screams the song title is everything in this track. That and the kick drums. But just the way James climbs the ladder vocally to belt out the chorus is such an amazing hook. This almost feels like a sorta power metal almost-but-not-quite Dokken-type vibe meets British new wave meets sped-up Load riffage meets a more polished version of Hit the Lights. It's gonna be a go-to live song (the lyrics kinda reflect that) and the song's energy and the boys' own energy are undeniable. I can't explain it, but all I know is my ear loves it. I'm very happy Metallica is back with new tunes and I'm also very happy they kept the album under wraps so now it's arriving soon - to MY mind - rather than them announcing it 2 years out and then us playing the waiting game. These old dogs can still hunt.

Yess new Metallica on the way. Since you’re checking out their new material, you should check out, “Spit Out The Bone”. It’s off their 2016 album and FULL of energy throughout the entire song. Also a GREAT song to work out to with insane instrumentals

Love spit out the bone! I’ve been a fan since the mid 80s and I absolutely love the hardwired album!
Love seeing a group of young men who have been discovering Metallica, receive the treat of reacting to a brand new song! As an old head Metallica fan, this reaction brought a real smile to my face! Go see em live while you can.

I concur, wholeheartedly
The lyric “lightning the nation” is a tip of the hat to the band Diamond Head who is one of Metallica’s biggest (if not their biggest) influences, Diamond Head’s debut album was called “Lightning to the Nations”

Hi..please do a reaction on an Indonesian singer named Cakra Khan.. he did an amazing cover for Tennessee whiskey.. and the other is a fingerstyle guitarist named Alip Ba Ta.. very talented. !!
YUP YUP!!!!..I was in 3rd grade when these guys put there first album out....I'm 48 now....they were underground when I was a kid...its incredible to see how they have transcended generations , gender , and race...the audience when I saw them in the 80s was alot different than the audiences now....love it
'Lightening the nation' refers to 'Lightning to the Nations' an album by the British band Diamond Head, who are a massive influence on Metallica.
Y'all really should catch a live show if you can. There's nothing like a live Metallica show. The unison in the chanting and sing-along is really unlike any other band I've seen. The energy is so tight you could power the world if you could harness it.

Being a fan since the late 80's I'm honored to listen to this song for the first time with you guys. Love you're enthusiasm for a band that got me though alot of times, good and bad. Cheers my metal brothers!
Lux Aeterna means eternal light
I gotta admit... I havent been this excited for a Metallica Album since S&M... I hope the whole album is like this...
GLAD YOU LISTENED TO THEIR NEW SONG! CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEW ALBUM!!!!!
Metallica with modernized version of 80s thrash and they’re still killing it🔥🔥🔥
The song seems a homage to metal as a whole.
I discovered this band 36 years ago and the energy felt here is what grabbed me and never let go.
Hell YEAH !! I was hoping you guys would do this one today. SO much Kill EM All and Motorhead vibes .......
I actually couldn’t wait for “your” reaction to this song as I’ve seen others as well, so glad you got this this already. Loved this reaction!
Sounds a lot like the material on Kill Em All, especially the part just before and after the guitar solo that sounded like Hit the Lights. I'm sure they will release a song or two before the album release of "72 Seasons" on April 14, 2023. 12 Tracks and 77 minutes.

Section just before the solo reminds me of Metal Militia, definitely hearkens back to early era Metallica, pretty catchy riff
So loving their new song You guys exuded such awesome energy 🖤🤘🏻
Love how you all review all music, much love from Indy!
I've been a fan for 35 years and I watched this for the first time with you guys. Thanks Fam.
I absolutely love everyone’s vibe in this video!! Dope song. You guys are awesome (and Metallica of course)
You guys should definitely go see them live when they hit Texas on this next tour!!
the lyric "Lightning the Nation" is definitely a reference of Diamond Head and their album "Lightning to the Nations". Metallica are big fans of Diamond Head, even covered "Am I Evil" and "It's Electric" among others
I’m new to this channel but you guys are awesome!! Metallica is my all time favorite band and seeing you guys discover them in such a genuine and happy manner puts a smile on my face. Shoutout to that NASCAR shirt!
This was a GREAT song. I didn't expect it and I enjoyed it for the first time with you guys!! Awesome REACTION!! Love you guys.

I'd say more of early 80s, formed in 81, kill em all in 83, ride in 84..
I’ve been watching you dudes and my man with the Vegas t shirt is definitely a Metal Head ! Haha so much more music for you guys to discover
Hahaha, you guys rock man! LoL. Always enjoy ur dialogue n vibe.! Had to reach out and give props 👏. Cheers guys haha.

I’m saving to go see them next Christmas 😂🎹🎸🔥🥁 Kirk Hammett just turned 60! He released an album this year..it is 🔥🔥
Me and my brother are going to see them in Arlington August 18th. I wanna see all you guys there. It'll be a once in a lifetime experience to see these legends.
Amazing reaction lol songs amazing. Literally cannot stop listening to it. They’re talking about bringing everyone together imo
72 seasons meaning the first 18 years of your life. Metallica rules! Love your channel guys!! Keep up the good work!
Enlightenment and being one especially at a show…it’s like a family an army as one singin. You haven’t experienced a concert til you see them live. 🤘
We, human beings, have so much energy, especially created during the live concerts. It's literally, electric. A charge. We are living batteries. Learn to sun gaze. Love you guys. Thanks.
This song reminds me a lot of the Early years with Kill Em' All 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Didn’t even know they dropped a new song appreciate the put on🙏🏼
I love you guys. You even make the song better
Ufff the throwback to hit the lights is 🔥 🎶
Lux Aeternal means Light Eternal. The new album is coming in April and the plotted a 2 year tour. They are timeless, they continue to stay as hard as ever. Consistently good for so long...pretty sure that's the definition of greatness.
I'm going to the show in AZ!!!!🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼 Merry Christmas and happy holidays guys!!!!!😁
Awesome 👍👍 reaction
I just got my Pit tickets for their show in Arlington, TX in August. They are playing two shows. One on Friday and one on Sunday. I got tickets to both. It’s my birthday weekend. This will be my 15th and 16th Metallica concert. Long live the Kings! 🤘
Glad that they’re alive to still be putting out music and glad I’m in one of the generations that gets some new Metallica music
love these boys for being open to new music and not being stuck on one genre
Lux Aeterna is Latin for Eternal Light. The concept of the album, called 72 Seasons is about early life, from birth to 18yrs old (There's four seasons, so 72 would be 18yrs). My take for this track is the taking the world by the throat mentality of the young.
Fellas, you guys are dope. I love the fact that yall smart, strong young men can see the other side of music, and see the brilliance of Metallica, one of the very greatest rock bands literally of all time. I love you guys and your honesty. much love from Seattle.
nice reaction greetings from Chile !
Hahaha man for REAL these dudes showin young folks how real metal works!! Love that y'all love it!!
As some of the others have said, spit out the bone is an awesome new era metallica track
Love ya Guys. Keep goin' with these Reactions
Thanks for spreading the Mighty Metallica throughout the world with new vibes
Best reaction to this so far! Thank you guys! You get "double fire extinguishers"
Watching you guys from your first couple Metallica reactions to this one is awesome, I think you are all metalheads now!!! Well done guys, just subscribed. Btw, it's Latin for Eternal Light
Y'all's reaction is awesome
People under the stairs- Acid rain drops!!!
These lyrics reminded me of the stuff James was writing for Master of Puppets, but with an older feel to the music. GREAT combination.
I like these boys. Wish I would've had more brothers growing up....They seem fun as hell...
I’m so glad you reacted to this. I checked yesterday and no reactions. I was hoping you would have heard Metallica dropped a new song and it’s insane. I’m glad all 5 of you get to react to this. Go to Soldier Field in Chicago. 2024
Just got tickets to go see both their shows in Edmonton, Canada next August!!! So fuckin pumped!!
I'm going to the Arlington tx two night show, can't wait it's gonna be epic!
I like the new Metallica Album. The Guitar Solo is favorite part when Kirk Hammett rips on that guitar solo. Can't wait to hear LUX AETERNA live
I love how these guys enjoy the music I will take them to a Metallica concert if I could, great energy!
I lost it when you guys brought out the fire extinguisher 😂😂😂
These guys have been ripping like this for over 40years! And they are good guys who give back. Check out their charity organization called all within my hands. They have a day of giving where they ask their fans to all volunteer at a local food bank. They have scholarships for vocational schools. They have given so much away to good causes. They also donate part of the proceeds from every concert to local food banks in that particular area. They really are a great band and not just musically.
I have seen matalica several times, amazing. You guys need to go to a concert . You will jam out. They went back to old school. Love it
It's about all of us. Much love ✌️
You guys are awesome!! Love me some Metallica, thanks for review!
I am in complete agreement with all the people who said you guys should go check them out live next year. It really is an awesome experience. It will definitely, as you young ones say "be LIT!"
Got my tickets this morning for the 2 shows in St. Louis. If you guys can get to a show, absolutely go see them live. They are amazing! I've seen them 3 times and can't wait for November 2023!

Im going to the St. Louis show too! Section 138 front row A! Sooo excited!
I got my tickets!!! Presale on Wednesday morning! They are playing 22 cities and only 12 in the US. I’m going to the St Louis show and taking my brother. I saw them 30 years ago in 1992 so this is a full circle bucket list to see them again! They are doing a 2 show concert in each city.. Friday night with Pantera opening and Metallica will play 15 songs, they take Saturday off and then they play Sunday with 5 Finger Death Punch opening and Metallica plays 15 different songs! 30 songs in all with different bands opening each night! We are front row seats facing the field in front of the band.. great seats! Cost me $789 but seeing Metallica with their new album, 30 years later with my brother.. priceless!! 😜🤘😎
Nice love it 🤘🏼can’t wait
Ayye I'm definitely going to be there when they come thru Arlington! Seem them back in 2017 and they still got it 🤟🏽
This song has some hit the lights vibes I love it !
Guys are grandpas now and still shred harder than anyone on earth. I wanna see Cartier fam do Timmy Trumpet & Savage "Freaks" at some point. Would help make them big with an entirely new fanbase. Plus the song is amazing, have a feeling they'd love it.

The GOATs of metal ! 🤘
Can't wait to hear the whole album!
I love when younger guys like y'all get into a band that I've loved for over 30 years! Y'all were digging the music that made me a good drummer. Good on y'all! Love seeing that. Now you know what I grew up on. Lux AEtera means eternal light in Latin. Smart and aggressive. Express aggression through music. Make it positive. Make it productive. Don't insight violence. Honor God family and country and bring it in song. Good reaction my American brothers. Keep the music alive. 3 chords and the truth. Amen
Buying pre-sale tickets tomorrow for the St. Louis show!!
