So disappointed by this comment section, I LOVE CHLOE, but we shouldn’t disrespect the other violinists (background players and especially the OTHER CONTESTANTS) they have worked SO HARD. And they are wonderful...all of them!

I have a headache now from reading such confusing English
They are all so amazingly talented! The differences are so subtle and yet so dramatic to the ears. I feel that the inherent quality that separates the performances are how much the musicians are playing to me, versus playing at me. I don't know how else to explain it.
One never expects this level of playing from these preteens. Just unbelievable.
I can't be the only one who heard some kind of ringtone when Ruibing Liu was playing. I love love how she plays.
don't know if it's just me--especially because I'm not a classical musician or a musician at all hehe... I feel like the orchestra members playing with the finalists loosened up at around Chloe Chua's performance. It may have seemed like that to me just because I kinda have a special attachment to her. LOL. But her sound is so so so clear and even though it's very clear and sharp, it's very easy on the ears. Don't get me wrong though, all of the finalists were so wonderful! :)))
@jackburgess8579
3 жыл бұрын
I think they must indeed have loosened up. Certainly, Chloe showered them in essence of feel good factor and it is clear that they hit cloud nine in response.
I only watched the separate videos for Chloe and Christian.. but this one as a whole changes my perspective. They are all deserving. Not surprising why the jury had a hard time. All 6 of them.
I honestly loved Hina, she made the orchestra musicians appreciated too :) I felt like everyone played confidently during Vivaldi: summer😌
Chloe Chua, Just winsome, delightful and beautiful.
THEY WERE ALL SO GOOD BUT CHLOE AND CHRISTIAN MADE ME FLABBERGASTED
Chloe chua and SoHyun Ko are my favorite violinists!
That was a perfect decision - Christian Li and Chloe Chua are playing in another "League"..... Alle these young Players are great - but these two are outstanding...
These two hours was an awesome time for me, i'm a little bit late, 4 years late and if i remember right, every second year are these menuhin competitions, so this year maybe i will be there at the right time. I am totally impressed about the incredible talent of all 6 artists! After the first play, i have to pause, because i don't understand the piece from Choi Jae-hyuck and i was searching and found an article online from "the korea times" in english about this composer and after that i was able to listen carefully. Until now i was not familiar with contemporary classical music in this way, but after this i will take a look in this section, because it seems to be interesting music. I was 8 years old, as i first listen to vivaldis 4 seasons and i remember i was in tears after listen for the forst time. Now i am 43, i only played the violin for about 4 years, after that i discovered the piano and i play it until now, i think i started as i was 14 years old with the piano. I remember exactly my time with my violin....we always had this weird relationship, sometimes it was wonderful and sometimes i have the need to smash the violin on the wall - NO, i never did it, but the wish was very strong to do so^^ Today i laughed after reading about contemporary, because for the first time, it sounds like me with my first time playing a child-song on my violin, maybe contemporary could be my sense^^ But now i know the deeper meaning behind the piece, please don't judge me because i laughed^^ After discovering the piano i knew i found MY instrument. After playing 4 different instruments between the age of 5 and 14, finally i found an instrument i loved until now. But even if i don't play the violin anymore, i deeply love to listen to it!!! I admire the talent of these young artists, the knowledge and especially the understandment of contemporary music in this young age, i always memorized the melody, but with the "Self in mind", i can't memorized, still after listen to it 6 times, i am impressed. They all play on a high level, but totally unique, i love to watch it! Chloe and Li are both artists, stucked in my mind until i saw the last contestant, there goes my heart. I was glad to hear, he won the internet price, i am absolutly in love with his way to play the violin. Anyway, all of them are amazing and talented and i think they will have a great future with their music, they have a special gift and i will remember this competition for a long time! I had a great time, watching this video! Thank you for sharing it, it's a luck for the "Late-coming-people" like me :)

How can a jury judge between artists at this level? What is there to choose between them? They must be judging on very fine nuances. I couldn't help but wonder if the results would be the same if the artists had been playing behind a screen, so that it would be judged on the music alone. To my mind, they were *_all_* wonderful.

@@ChiefHerzensCoach Hi, I read this some time ago from ABC News on Christian's violin. The violin played by Christian Li in the Menuhin competition was also very interesting. It is a very rare one-half violin, borrowed from a violin dealer in Sydney. At that time, the violin was borrowed by others & was returned a year later. The Sydney dealer saw a video of Christian playing the violin and immediately agreed to lend it to him. "This violin was made in Italy around 1780. It is a half violin, a very small instrument, very rare. We are very fortunate," said Dr. Wilson, Christian's teacher. "It’s a very historic violin. It’s hard to imagine anyone playing this violin. Obviously, this small instrument was often made for the children of aristocratic families in those days. Who knows, maybe a prince or princess once played this violin."
