@Jun Zhi Xue there is more profit in popular contemporary music, however the classical music business is all about money too. It costs $6500.00 to hire the small recital hall at Carnegie Hall. It costs about $100USD to break a classical Artist into the US market.

This boy plays with such maturity that it's almost scary. But then he still has all these cute awkward moments like at the beginning where he almost walks the wrong way, and at the end of course. It's so endearing, and a sobering reminder that he's still a child.

Usually, the path offstage is between the concertmaster and the audience, and he is probably used to walking off that way after his performances, so I would say that is actually a sign of his maturity, since he has performed so much that he is used to walking that path offstage.

I speak as an ex-pianist who learned to play on a concert grand piano (John Broadwood) that filled our "front room" in the early 1960s. This filled me with warmth. After a local dental anaesthetic that went wrong in 1995 when I was still in my 30s the co-ordination of my right hand to my brain was severely hampered. In a fit of frustrated temper, I got rid of my violin and my piano despite the fact that my left hand could still master the violin fingering and any left hand part of a masterpiece by Bach or Mozart work for piano (or organ for that matter). I was frustrated...... I felt robbed, but as I have aged, I have appreciated the abilities of others. My brain still comprehends the complexities of many manuscripts but my fingers on my right hand are severely disobedient. I went to the dentist for a filling on that fateful day in 1995 but the anaesthetic entered an unintentional artery and numbed a part of brain that actually died from the anaesthetic. I will never again be able to play up to the standard of 1001 talented youngsters, but I have learned, that despite my own disappointments, I can now listen to, and appreciate the amazing God-given talents others have. This is a delight to listen to and hope for the future.... well done all you amazing youngsters - play on......! Take heart, all those of you who "never made the grade" - there are thousands of us! We appreciate the talents of others and wish we could replicate their performances. However, when we are successful there are unbearable pressures to perform even better. When we perform amazingly, there may be someone else with a slightly di8ffertent interpretation that attracts to positive attention of the judges.

I can understand you. I was an early born child and the doctors at the hospital wanted to stop the birth process and they had have an operation on my mother, but it made no sense, her uterus was been closed by the doctors, but Inevertheless I came out. That caused a hypo-oxygen damage. Fortunately it is very little, a kind of minimal spastic. Therefore I could not get the full perfection on the violin, but I was a violinist at a small German theatre for some years , then a musicologist with an exam and now I still play the violin. I had also a crisis with my playing at the middle of the 90s. I did not know the reason of my health problems (there are also some other little health problems, I am rather short-sighted, e. g.) for a long time, and I was rather depressed, when I heard of all. But I got improve the abilities of both hands by other works, like e. g. handcrafts, and I did not lay away my violin because I love music and the violin too much. People with such problems should never give up, and that it`s not true, what some people say: that music may be not important for life. No. I cannot imagine a life without music for myself, and music is a wonderful way to express onelelf towards other people and to get into a relation to them, I think. One can improve the feelings of other people and of oneself. Thanks to your comment, and I wanted to encourage you.

Christian Li seems to have a pretty good violin. I wonder if it existed when his great-grandparents were born. Interesting that he gazed at his bow , then invited the superb orchestra to stand during the applause.

Inimitable perfection! I read some biting comments about his age - the music business is bursting with sweet little "child prodigies" who make silly women fall apart with rapture and click on idiotic videos. This one is from another galaxy. Music doesn't care about age - and this here is anything but "another child prodigy". This is a fully mature, perfectly evolved, perfectly sensitive and controlling grown-up musician in a child body. Call it a genius or reincarnation, or whatever - it doesn't matter. This performance wouldn't have been any bit less of a masterpiece, had he been fourty instead of ten while playing this way. This is definitely The interpretation of this concerto; the optimum version! The one that every next interpretation should be measured by. I hate the world miracle, and people using it. But this word exists to describe events like this one.

Merci 🙏🏼

I'd never really like Vivaldi's Four Seasons. It's only after accidentally bumping into this video that I realized the song could be played so beautifully. After re-watching no less than a dozen times, I looked up from KZread the same song played by adults. I must say that I like Christian's version much better, not only because of his skills but more so because of his passion.

It's actually a "concerto" and not a "song". A "song" usually involves a human voice-even though you can "sing" with an instrument too-if you are good enough.

Bravo!!! Musical genius requires the right environment - supportive parents, inspirational teacher and hard working student who really enjoys the music and displays and communicates his enjoyment to the audience. Christian , your playing warms the heart of your audience and the world is richer because of you. Keep up your positive force to brighten up a world full of miseries.

The wonderful music of 18th century Antonio Vivaldi lives on through the consummate artistry of 10-year old Christian Li. I feel awe and elation at the capacity of young violinists like Christian Li and Chloe Chua, co-winners of this competition. The Four Seasons lives on through them and other youths, and this bodes well for the future of classical music. Perhaps some of them later become composers themselves and youths three hundred years from now will play their creations.
